Keep your Friend out of Trouble

You were slightly angered by his taunting dare, you knew it was for the best to stay low and hidden, but in your current state you decided to keep your friend out of trouble.

"I can't let you do that. The surface dwellers are said to ride in these huge wooden vessels and capture our kind to be sold into slavery. My mother would also throw a riot if she found out that we went to the surface." You urge your friend.

"So what." your friend replies.

"So my mother is the one that makes the rules. Did you forget that she is queen of the merpeople?" You say as you glare at your friend.

"Have it your way goody two fins." your friend responds.

As you and your friend, Reef were swimming back home you pick up a distant scream. The scream definitely sounded like that of a maiden in danger. Unfortunately, you didn't bring your spear.

"Reef, do you hear that?" you ask.

"Sounds like some lady in trouble."

"Exactly. We must rescue her."

"Duly noted comrade."

When you and Reef rush to the scene you see a...
