The primary issue right now would be that the study you were conducting for your thesis... was almost entirely conjecture. You were interested in finding out precisely why reformation machines refused to function when pokemon were thrown into the mix. Humans cant reform after being digested by pokemon, pokemon can't reform period, ect. You refuse to switch your topic, as it's become somewhat of a fascination with you, but your main theory is... unsupportable by facts. You believe it has to do with the nature of the soul. That pokemon, being magical creatures, have spirits that are simply incompatible with the machines resurrection process, and that their bodies, with this innate magical properties, do... something to a humans soul during digestion that makes it unavailable to the machine. Trap it? Absorb it? Destroy it? You didn't know. Partially because the nature of the soul was something not everyone even agreed upon yet, and it seemed the only people who actually knew the truth were those that... experienced... it.
You were a bit short for your age at 4'10, with curly blonde hair and tan skin. Generally you could be seen in blue jeans and a white shirt beneath your labcoat, examining some kinda data on your charts with your analytical brown eyes.
