Tonight like many other nights Felicity was in the lab of Palmer tech trying to understand Ray's ATOM armour, going over the entirety of the systems, both hardware and software. A part of her did this to remember her friend who she believed perished in the explosion that had wrecked the building several months ago, but another did this because she was feeling like the least useful member of team Arrow, everyone else was a kickass badass, but she was simply the tech who would need to be saved if she was attacked.
Since the incident she'd manage to reconstruct and understand (at least theoretically) almost the entirety of the suits weapons and ability systems, now fiddling with what Ray had said was the most important part of the suit: The miniaturization system.
What wasn't known at the time was that the shrink and growth systems of the suit were only useable when they were both active and in synch, the explosion was caused because Ray tried to activate the shrink system with the growth system not only inactive but disconnected from the armour. It wouldn't be till much later that he would realise that the coding of the 2 systems stabilise each other and ensure the suit's complete functionality.
This wasn't something Felicity knew as she continued to examine Ray's armour, accidentally activating the growth programs which caused the suit parts to start to flash and glow. Felicity stepped back, hoping to find a way a way to deactivate the device when the room was bathed in light.
When the light faded Felicity rubs her eyes to return focus to them, noticing her glasses were missing but she could still see (due to her still recovering vision being better than they had been without glasses) and she was sitting in the wreckage of (the once more destroyed) Palmer tech completely unharmed (though nude) and as she tried to stand realised what had happened, she had grown due to Ray's A.T.O.M. suit, and the reason she was unharmed when the building was wrecked was because her growth was the cause.
