Chapter #3They tell him something by: right Jackson awoke, Rob next to him mumbling in his sleep. He could tell he was in a car and from what he remembers, there is a lot of chance they’re in the limousine.
“Did you have a good rest?” asked a female voice on the opposite side.
The boy turned to the sound source. The blond lady and her bald dark-skinned bodyguard were sitting there, both wearing sunglasses. Looking at the driver, he also was wearing sunglasses above his big mustache.
“I want to apologize for the poor behavior we have shown to you. We are not familiar with the area so I hope you understand we might lose our way in here.” the tone was monotone like last time. Thinking about it, a strange accent could be heard. Maybe German, or Arabic. One of those two, this was for sure. Yet he wondered how those guys could be sorry for bad direction and not for kidnapping.
“It seems you know the way to Sycamore. Could you tell us how to go there?” she asked again.
Jackson didn’t know what to say, looking at his phone, he noticed it was a small town near Chicago but … they were in Oregon right now.
“I’m sorry but like we said you’re far away from your destination.” Tried to reason Jackson.
He passed his phone showing the map to the two kidnappers, then the lady caught her head in her hand. Soon after, she turned to the driver and both discussed in a foreign laguage. Neither German, nor Arabic but something between in term of sonority.
“I’m sorry to tell you this right now but, my friend and I have to go to school, and we might be late. Could we go out please?”
The lady stopped and turned to Jackson.
“What school are you in?” she asked in a hurry pointing to a building. “This one?”
“Hum … yes. But why do you ask?” He responded unsure of what his abductors.
The woman looked at the school and let a smile go whispering something.
Sudently, the car brutally slowed down avoiding two students who savagely crossed the road. It was violent enough to shake everyone (except the bodyguard) and the woman even lost her glasses. Rob was still sleeping though and just complained unconscious. Jackson was happy to see his friend wasn’t hurt. However, he didn’t know how to react with the lady’s bright red eyes glaring at him. The big guy next to her was ready for a move but the lady stopped him and approached Jackson with a smile.
“You saw our secret. It’s bad for us to be seen by a human. We could kill you right now but … we need someone from the inside of this school. Our beloved devil asked us to bring his daughters back. Halas, they are good at running away. If they see us, we will lose them again. But maybe you could help us to bring them back.”
“Wait … what?” the poor student had troubles to understand what is happening to him. Is he doing a pact with a demon right now?
“In case you did not understand, we need you to find 7 princesses from the capital of Hell. They ran away from their home and are now hiding in your school. I can feel them there.”
“What about your ride at Sycamore?”
“… it was a trap they sent to us, but now I am sure they are here. Go to your class and act normal. I’ll contact you later for more details. And before you leave, let me give you a reward for your future mission!”
She blew some dense smoke which entered Jackson’s mouth and nose, burning his lungs and sinus.
“This is a part of my powers. It will allow you to locate the other demons on one side and control the humans on the other.”
“What do you mean by control?”
“You decide what the body will do or how it will change. Be aware though … it does not control the soul. If people do something they don’t want to or if they body change to much, they will know something is wrong with them. Make sure to remember that. Also, demons will not know you have my powers, but the princesses are smart. Be sure to find them without them to find you.”
This time it’s sure, it was a deal with hell itself.
The car stopped in front of school and Jackson left the car with Roy on his back. The guy having slept during all the ride, the demons had no reason to bother him too. The lady said goodbye with her glasses on her face again. Then she closed the door and the car left.
Jackson could hear Rob whispering at his ear.
“Are we out of this mess?”
“Damn! You’re awake?” he answered surprised.
“Since the beginning, sorry. I didn’t want to deal with them … mostly after the lady lost her glasses. I’m really sorry!” Rob was ashamed of himself, but Jackson couldn’t blame him. he doesn’t know how he would have reacted if Rob had to talk for them.
I was time to start the last year in his school … but it was going to be a strange year for Jackson and Rob. Starting with class where Jackson used his powers for the first time.
