When the beam struck Eric, it instantly transformed his appearance to that of someone else's. Liz quickly regained her own composure, then looking at what had happened to her husband. She instantly recognized the attractive red-headed slender form that had replaced her husband. It was Jessica! But how or why the remote had swapped Eric with Jessica, she had no clue. It was labeled as a trait swapper, not a body swapper, and even then...
Deciding to confront Eric or Jessica, she walked back to where her husband was. Jessica's form was still chowing down on the stir fry before turning to Liz.
"Something wrong honey? You look like you saw a ghost." Jessica's body asked.
"Uh.. no, just wondering if you felt any different Eric..." Liz managed to say, confused about what this so called 'trait swapper' actually did.
Eric laughed in Jessica's voice. "What's with the sudden concern for me luv? Did you put something in this stir fry?"
"No,no, it's nothing like that! I'll... be upstairs." Liz said, turning back to go upstairs for real this time. As she was walking back, Eric noticed the remote in Liz's hand and frowned.
Unbeknownst to Liz, the reason Eric had been swapped with Jessica was because Jessica had originally set the remote to swap lives with a customer. She had planned to do it quickly, preselecting herself as a target in hopes of a self rewarded break with customer's life. A mixture of not finding a suitable target and forgetfulness however had Jessica leaving the remote where she worked. With Liz finding the remote and pressing the alter reality button, the life trait swap had occurred but with only now with Liz aware of the swap rather than Jessica.
Jessica, now believing she had been Eric the all her life still remembers the remote however. How it got into 'her wife's' hands, she was about to find out...
