As Jessica stuffed her belongings in one of the lockers, she was feeling a little bored. It wasn't that she hated working at the Rotherham store, but she definitely missed being around familiar co-workers. "Close you stupid thing." Jessica grumbled, banging her palm on the locker to force it shut. She was amazed by the number of things that were broken or didn't work properly at this store.
"Hey Jess, glad you're here." a familiar voice suddenly said behind Jessica, causing her to turn around and look at Kiran, who was standing there with a strange smile on her face.
"Really? Why?" Jessica responded.
Kiran opened the door again that led to the top of the stairs just to check that nobody was there. The coast was clear. "I've got something to show you." she then said to Jessica.
"Can't it wait while break? We have to go downstairs." was Jessica's response.
"No it can't. This is major important." Kiran grinned, pulling her friend into the ladies toilets. She then produced an odd looking device from her trouser pocket, it resembled a TV remote, but it was smaller, more compact. "Someone sent this to me by post yesterday, don't ask me why. Just wait until you see what this thing does." Kiran said in excitement.
Jessica seemed at a loss. She shrugged her slender shoulders and briefly raised her arms up to waist level. "Okay then tell me."
Kiran paused, then grinned again. "It can swap people's body parts around." she revealed
Jessica's eyebrows shot skywards, and then a skeptical expression worked its way onto her pretty face. "What?"
"I know, I know, bullshit right?" Kiran said, raising a hand. "But its not, I tried it out already. Though maybe I shouldn't have used it on my brother. The sight of him with his girlfriend's boobs was... disturbing. I had to swap them back straight away." she explained.
Jessica was having none of it. "Kiran, we haven't got time for stupid stories, we have to start work, everyone else is down on the shop floor already." She then clicked towards the door in her high heeled boots, leaving Kiran standing there looking a tad frustrated.
"Fine, I'll show you then." Kiran called after her friend... before firing the remote at her back.
Jessica suddenly gasped as she felt herself shrinking several inches in height. In a few seconds she went from 5' 8" with her heels on, to just 5' 3" tall. Spinning around, she now looked at a smug Kiran, who was definitely taller than before, five inches taller to be exact. "WTF!!" Jessica cried out.
"Believe me now?" Kiran chuckled.
"But... how?" a shocked Jessica mumbled.
"I told you, this thing can swap people around in any way. Body parts, personalities, you name it." Kiran said.
"So you... stole my height?" Jessica frowned,
Kiran disapproved of the word "stole". "I borrowed it Jess, I'll give it back." she smirked. She then raised the device again and thought what she wanted to swap... before firing it at Jessica again. Both girls returned to their normal heights, and now Kiran definitely had Jessica's attention.
But they were late starting work, and they knew Liz would be wanting to know where they were. The one thing neither girl liked about the Rotherham store, was the fact that Liz was a lot more strict than their own supervisor at Parkgate.
Kiran glanced at her watch as Jessica asked to get a look at the remote.
