It was a day, like every other day at work. On this particular day, Mona idly hummed to herself as she unpacked a box of duct tape in the seasonal section. Work was nearing its final hour, and she found herself growing a little anxious, which was evident in how she kept glancing up a the clock.
"C'mon, hurry up." She muttered.
It wasn't that she really hated work all that much, after all, there were much worse jobs out in the market. She wasn't treated all that badly and they were paying her and all. It was just that after having to be there for so many hours, she just found fatigue setting in.
However, around that time, she found something in the box that didn't belong.
"Hm?"
It was a sleek, black remote. It was wedged between two rolls of tape. Gingerly, Mona pried it out.
Definitely not a TV remote... Mona thought. None of the buttons were labeled, but for one, it had too few buttons to be a TV remote. Of the other remotes she could think of, air conditioning unit, garage door opener, etc. It didn't really look like anything she could think of. For one, too many lights. She spun it over. It apparently once had a label on the back, but it looked to have been long scratched out.
At the very least, the remote was interesting... She couldn't quite explain it, but she felt drawn to it.
