Chapter #3

The Notebook

    by: Vintovka Author IconMail Icon
Everything around you keeps growing ever more massive as you try to put more distance between yourself and Fulda, futile as it may be. All she does in response is laugh, her eyes gaining a fire of mania as you continue to get smaller. As she dominates more of your view you begin to panic, and the sight of her monolith of a shoe, the top half itself dozens of times taller than you, twitching back and forth causes you to panic.

Knowing that the back of the chair will block you, you turn and run for the side in hopes that you'll be able to jump off. It starts hard and only gets worse as the cushion's contours change from low obstacles to hurdles that you have to jump over, slowing the progress of your already miniscule legs considerably. You glance towards Fulda who is by now practically leaning over you and see that you've barely even moved away from her center.

Suddenly a huge, browned tree crashes down in front of you - wait, that's just her finger. Fulda laughs at her complete domination of you, though it sounds more like a long series of low rumbles at your size. "Going somewhere?" she asks, her voice booming. "I really can't let you get away. You're too small, it would be irresponsible for me to let you. Someone could crush you with much less than a finger." For effect she lifts up the finger she has blocking you and lowers it until the whorls of her fingertip are brushing against your hair.

You expect her to pick you up now, but she decides you're too small even for that. Instead she tears out one of the half-filled pages from your notebook and places it on the cushion, then slides it toward you. As the paper rushes in you try to duck, but it's coming in too fast. Before you can so much as squat it slams into your legs, knocking you forward and laying you out, the low friction keeping you rolling until the middle of the page.

In a daze you stand and find yourself in the middle of a capital D you had written with your own hand just minutes before. Fulda curls the page inwards, causing you to slide to a stop in the very middle. "Now that you're here," she begins, "I think you'd be perfect..."

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. as a paper airplane pilot

2. inside her shoe

3. for one of her friends

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
