"Hey, Vanessa?"
Startled, Vanessa turned around, seeing Suzie right behind her, a puzzled look on her face.
"W-What?" Vanessa replied.
"Where'd you get that?" Suzie asked, pointing at her.
"That? Oh, this ring!" said Vanessa, trying to remain calm while presenting her hand somewhat nervously. "Yeah, I just picked it up a while ago. Got it at a steal from this old antique shop. Why, do you like it?"
"Eh, the gem's a bit big for my taste, though it is kinda cool how it glows like that," said Suzie, staring at the gem. "How is it doing that anyway?"
"Magic?" Vanessa asked with a grin. "At least the owner said it was..." she added, seeing Suzie's nonplussed expression.
"Probably just a battery light installed in the band," said Suzie. "Still, light or no, you are going to take that off before you shower, right?"
"Of course!" said Vanessa indignantly. "I remember what happened last time I showered with jewelry."
But as Vanessa grabbed the ring to pull it off, it wouldn't budge at all.
"Oh no..." said Vanessa.
"Stuck? Here, let me help with that," Suzie said, reaching forward.
"Er, no need, I've got it under control," Vanessa pulled back.
"Vanessa, what's your deal?" Suzie asked, somewhat offended. "I'm not going to break it or take it or anything! We've known each other how long now? Just let me help. It'll take two seconds, tops!"
"Well... all right then," Vanessa sighed, returning her hand to where it was. It wasn't like Suzie would believe her if she told her what really happened. Besides, they weren't wanting to go anywhere right now, so it should be fine.
"Mmmph! It's really on there tight." Suzie said, pulling hard.
"Ah! Well, it was a tight fit..." Vanessa winced, trying to help by pulling backwards.
"Hrrgh! Ha... That explains it..." Suzie sighed. "I guess I need to go to the gym and work out more... Guess we're gonna have to get this wet after a-"
Just then, Vanessa felt her legs moving again. As she was drawn out the doorway and out of her apartment, the surrounding streets a blur, a chill slipped down her spine as she realized what was going on. And then, just as quickly as it began, it stopped.
Slightly winded by the suddeness once more, Vanessa found herself surrounded by exercise machines and free weights, but this time, she wasn't alone.
"Wha- What just happened!?" Suzie shouted. "Where are we?"
Vanessa turned to answer, but her words caught in her thought. Her face flushed red, as she saw that Suzie was no longer wearing a full towel. Instead...
