The cascade of blonde hair, rolling over her shoulders unsettled Harry more than he liked to admit. Just as the cold flinty hardness of seeing Hestia Carrow look back out of the mirror felt wrong.
His mirror image copied his gestures, moves and mannerisms perfectly, as he once more tried to somehow trick the mirror. Flipping his hand up to his shoulder, the girl in the glass tosses her hair back off her shoulder and out of the way. But Harry's hand met no obstruction, felt no tickling caress of long hair.
Glancing away from the mirror, he double-checked his own body. It was still the same, the same Gryffindor jumper beneath the Ravenclaw cloak. the same boys jumper.
Cautiously he took a step closer to the mirror. His eyes searching for something to explain the mirror's magic. Just to look more closely, to check for an engraving around the frame.
Dizzyingly, the surface of the mirror rippled, slowly like a deep lake. As the mirror resettled, Harry stood still eager to find any changes. However, it looked like the same girl looking back out. She looked to be in her third year... or thereabouts. Rather a pretty girl...
Taking another step forward, he was almost at the mirror. Again it rippled, and again Harry stopped, to see what changed. A gorgeous fifth? year girl was reflected back. Her face, refined, her lips full, her nose petite. Turning sideways, Harry admired the curves... Their size, nice without being too obvious... yet still firm and full.
Unbidden, the comparison sprang to mind. She was more beautiful than Cho Chang, her face, her body...
Shuffling sideways, the last half-step until he was almost pressing against the mirror. It rippled once more, the girl had to be in her final year. An elegance in how she wore the uniform, a confidence in her pose. She was as tall as Harry, her long hair now long straight and smooth. The little girl vanished, only the woman remained. Harry smiled in pleasure, she truly was a beauty. Naturally enough, she smiled back, those full perfect lips spreading to reveal perfect white teeth. Her high cheek bones shown to their best by simple act of smiling.
