Then, somebody call the door.

A buzzing sound was heard, someone at the door. Logan put the empty bottle on the counter and walked to the front door and opened it. A woman was standing there with what looked like a box of matches. Logan cocked an eyebrow, waiting for her to say something first.

"Hello, I'm Mrs. Gilman" she said.

Logan nodded, "What's the problem ma'am, your car break down or something?" he asked, still trying to figure out the box.

"No, I was told that I could.." her voice wavered a bit and she became a bit more quiet, "..bring my son here" she stated.

"Is your son a mutant?" Logan asked.

The woman seemed nervous. "Y-yes, yes he is" she answered.

"Then this is the place" Logan stated, his eyes shifted a bit, looking for the boy in the car parked behind her.

She relaxed. "Alright, I wasn't sure at first. You see, I'm getting too old to care for him any longer, and he needs help due to his.. unique.. traits" she said, obviously trying not to say anything that might be considered offensive.

"I understand ma'am, we'll take good care of him. Could you give me some basic information on the kid?" Logan asked, crossing his arms and leaning on the door frame.

"Oh, well actually, I've already been in contact with one of your people I believe. Um.. I forget her name though" the old woman said, trying to recall it.

"Ororo?" Logan asked.

The old woman smiled, "Yes, that's the one! She said I could bring Keith here whenever he and I were both comfortable with it" she explained.

Logan nodded, still waiting for some specifics or to see the kid.

"Also, Keith isn't a child, I'd wager he's around your age in fact" she added.

Logan cocked an eyebrow again, "He needs us to care for him?"

"Yes, well, you see" she said, pulling out the matchbox and opening it up. Inside there were no matches, but miniature padded walls, and between those walls, in the box, was a little man!

Logan's eyes widened, he'd seen quite a few odd mutations, but this was one of those that really shocked him. "I think I understand now" he said, looking at the little man in the box.

"So, you will see that he is taken care of properly?" she asked.

Logan nodded, "Yeah, sure, of course ma'am" Logan said.

The old woman smiled warmly and closed the box back up and gently handed it to Logan.

Logan looked a bit nervous, something he rarely ever seemed to be, as he gently took the box. She then headed back to her car and was soon off, leaving him standing there with the box.

He moved back into the house, he was heading back towards the kitchen, but saw that since he'd left the students had pretty much invaded it. Apparently the sight of Logan drinking beer in the kitchen had kept a good portion of them away.

He went to the steps instead and toward his room. The whole time he was trying to keep the box rather steady in his hand. He couldn't help but look down at the box now and then, remembering the tiny man he'd seen in there. He was trying to grasp the concept that a person could fit inside that box in his hand. He realized then how huge his hand seemed to the box. He was trying to visualize what his hands would look like to someone so small.

He soon arrived at his own room and opened and shut the door behind him. He moved over to his bed and sat the matchbox on his bedside table. He then...

You have the following choices:

1. Opened the box back up...

*Noteb*
2. lit a cigarette and smoke a while...

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
