Chapter #3

A forest

After flying around for about an hour you find yourself over a vast forest, above you the sun had just passed its half way point and was beginning its slow descent into night. Aside from the helicopter's low thrum, it was peaceful above the forest, this was one of the many reasons why you enjoyed flying, it got you away from all your problems back home. A light above the fuel gauge light up, indicating that the tank was almost half way empty, "I guess all good things must come to an end sometime" you say to yourself as you turn back to the airport.

Just then a warning light came on indicating that one of the engines had a fire, you pull on the fire extinguisher lever and shut down the engine. The helicopter could fly on one engine, but not very well, so you had to get back to the airport quick. Suddenly he instrument panel went dark, but all the gauges still worked, unfortunately your navigation and radio stopped working when the panel stopped functioning.

"Can this day get any worse?" you say to yourself, just then you hear a loud grinding noise emanate from the engine followed by smoke lightly start to fill the cockpit. The altimeter, airspeed, and RPM gauges start to count down, you swear as you realize whats happening, you spot a clearing in the trees so you steer the helicopter towards it while you still had control. Just as you come in for a landing the helicopter suddenly tilts on its left side, you bring your arms up and shield your face as the helicopter rolls onto is side and the rotor blade explode when they hit the ground. Finally the helicopter comes to a rest, you grab the survival kit that you kept under the seat and climb out of the wreck. You look into the sky and see that the sun was beginning to set over the mountains
