This choice: Tails continues to fall further • Go Back...Chapter #5Tails continues to fall further by: Phoenix It was yet another day in this dimension of pure hedonism and indulgence. Despite the sun having risen high in the sky already declaring the late afternoon both Tails and Sonic lay snoring away bodies still covered in the residue from last night's feasts. Why wouldn't they be, after all in this world there was no need for adventure and danger, no need to work long hours on inventions and gadgets in a never-ending quest to defeat the evil Dr. Eggman. Hell, they didn't even need to work for money since rings in this dimension are worth almost 100 times more than the world Tails hailed from. He could just rest on his ass day after day and never need to do anything else again. Tails smiled in his sleep, scratching his blobby tummy happily at the thoughts of freedom this world provided. But all good things must come to an end, and eventually, the small specks of light that managed to sneak through the curtains into the dark room finally landed on Tails' eyes, finally rousing himself awake.
Sitting up Tails yawned as he stretched his still tired body. Looking around the room was a complete mess from last night, dirty empty cups, plates, and serving trays covered nearly every table and counter. Not to mention the plentiful wine bottles and beer cans from when it was getting later in the evening. Sonic was still loudly snoring on the couch, his massive beer belly rising and falling with his snores, covered in crumbs and stains from their raucous night. Tails couldn't help but smile at Sonic, while his personality was almost the same as his world's there was one difference that Tails really liked with this Sonic. He made time for him; his Sonic was constantly busy running hither and yon chasing his unending lust for freedom and adventure, but this Sonic knew how to take it slow and just hang with his buddy. Tails didn't realize how lonely he had felt before coming here, his Sonic he considered as a brother, and while he knew he felt the same, it still sometimes felt as though he were just a friend in his Sonic's eyes. But this world's Sonic wasn't like that at all, he was always around encouraging him and sampling his cooking. Rubbing Tails' belly whenever he ate too much or challenging him to an eating contest or burp off. He even let him win every now and again, his Sonic never would have held back so he could win. Just thinking of going back to his normal humdrum life of playing second fiddle to Sonic's whims tortured him, but he knew this couldn't last forever.
Could it?
He sighed as he looked around one last time finally noticing his broken hop, half buried in the other detritus of his messy home. It's broken screen taunting him, daring him to do what he knows he must, or what he really wants to do. Slowly Tails stood up from his couch, waddling his newly obese body over to the machine, reaching down to... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
