In the door waddled Maggie's wereseal friend, Penelope "Penny" O'Neil. As usual she was wearing nothing but a large blue jacket made of fake fur that made her already blubbery body look even bulkier. That and her trademark headphones. "Penny," says Maggie. "Good to see you." Penny doesn't respond and Maggie lets out a sigh before pulling on one of the seal giantess's headphones. "I said it's good to see you again, Penny." "Likewise, Maggie. Thanks for inviting me over."
You roll your eyes. Penny always had those stupid headphones on and that made her oblivious to everything. One of these days that pinniped is going to go deaf. Penny waddled up to the couch and climbed into it, forcing you to move out of the way before you were plastered under her blubbery behind. "Watch it, Penny!" you yell. Penny turns her head and notices you standing on top of one of her tail flippers. "Sorry Neil," she said. "Even after two whole decades, I still find it hard to believe a Nemean lion like Maggie married you. After all, they're in the top five of the most dangerous monsters to humans.
Maggie was in the kitchen at the time making coffee and you crawl up Penny's back to try and reach her ears, not easy considering her slippery skin. Along the way, you slip slightly and land on one of the rolls on Penny's stomach. It doesn't help that Penny is banging her head to whatever music she's listening too. This forces you to pinch the seal woman to get her attention. Penny grunts and takes off her headphones.
"So, Penny," you say. "How is Ethan doing? I heard he was sick." Penny shrugged her shoulders. "He recovered three days ago." You of course were asking about Penny's elusive husband. Penny actually got married on a trip to Europe before Maggie married you, so you've never met Ethan. In fact, Maggie hadn't. Neither you nor your wife nor anyone else in town for that matter knew what Ethan O'Neil looked like or what he even was. All you knew for sure was that whatever he was, he wasn't the same species as his wife.
In the kitchen, Maggie had a grim look on her face. "This time I'm going to find out what kind of man I live next to," Maggie thinks to herself. "Say goodbye to enigma, Mr. O'Neil because I have a plan. Maggie takes a monster sized cup of coffee and then takes it out to Penny who begins to drink it. "You look sleepy, Penny. The DJ gig must be keeping you up all night." Penny just nodded her head before drinking the coffee. You see that Penny's face starts to turn a pinker shade of gray and then she starts to hiccup. "The coffee's a little strong today." says the seal giantess. "Oh," says Maggie smugly. "That's because I added a bit of wiffleberry juice into it." Penny hiccups again and sways as you look up in confusion at the slightly intoxicated giantess. "Now's my chance." Says Maggie. "Chance for what?" you ask.
"You know," says Maggie. "Me and Neil hang out with Meryl and Flint, the Oxnards and the Sirtises a lot." "I hadn't noticed." Says Penny still under the effects of the wiffleberry coffee. You knew where this was going. Penny always drank decaf coffee. She was the only person you knew who could get drunk on soda pop so her stomach couldn't take something like wiffleberries. Maggie was going to force Penny to agree to an outing just to meet Ethan. "Don't look at me like that, Neil," says Maggie looking down at you. "I'm a cat. Now, Penny, I would like to invite you and your husband to join Neil and I on to ...."
