"Oh thank god." Sapphire says before taking you out of her pocket and setting you on the table. "Dad, you don't need to worry. This is Jade. She doesn't eat humans."
Looking up, you see the monster Sapphire was talking about. The monster looked to be around 18-19 years old. She was about 675 feet tall. She had brown eyes and short, black hair. She had green skin and was covered in thorn like fur. You could see a branch-like tail, wich made you realize that she was a cactus cat. She was slightly chubby, mostly in her stomach and legs. She was wearing a blue shirt with an old castle on it and blue jeans. She looked down at you in confusion.
"Um, Sapphire. Why do you have a human? You know it's against policy to bring snacks into the library." The girl, Jade, says in a matter-of-fact tone.
"He isn't a snack, Jade. This is my dad, Neil." Sapphire replies.
"Hello." You say.
Jade gets right up in your face and smiles, revealing a row of sharp teeth. "Oh. I didn't know Sapphire was half-human. It's nice to meet you, Mr. Reaver. My name is Jade Louisa Harrett. I am a 18-year-old cactus cat." She says proudly.
You were sweating at the sight of her teeth. "It's nice to meet you." You say, a bit scared.
"Why do you look scared? I thought people liked smiles?" She asks, confused.
"Jade, you right up in my dad's face and baring your fangs. That tends to make humans uncomfortable." Sapphire tells her.
Jade's face falls. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Mr. Reaver. Please forgive me." She quickly says.
"It's ok." You say.
"No it isn't. You're the first human father I've met and I scared you. I didn't mean to!"
"No really, it's fine." You try to explain, but don't get the chance. Jade has started crying.
"Um, dad?" Sapphire gets your attention. "Jade doesn't really understand social cues. She has Asperger's Syndrome."
That explained it. One of your friends had Asperger's. You turn to Jade, who is still crying.
"Jade, it's alright. You didn't know. It's just, being a human, I get worried about being eaten." You calmly explain.
Jade sniffles. "Really?"
"Yes. You didn't do anything wrong."
Jade smiles, this time with no teeth. "OK. I promise I'll be more careful about that."
"Good." Sapphire says. "So, do you want to get started on being tutored?"
What's Jade's reaction?
