This choice: Your parents come to visit you.  •  Go Back...
Chapter #8

Your parents come to visit you.

    by: Unknown
You're rather bored out here. You're staring out the window just waiting for time to pass. You watch as the sun is rising, it would surely be a beautiful day today. You really looked forward to it. You and the rest of the family would go to the beach the rest of the week. Your parents had rented a cabin and you were going to have your first surf lesson. Things would be going so well if only....

"Knock, knock can we come in?" You look up and your parents as you and your sister standing in the doorway.

"Sure." You say nudging to them to come further. Your parents take two chairs and place them next to your bed.

"How are you feeling Tim?" Your mother asks. Coming from Tabitha's body it sounds really different than usual.

"Fine, how else would I feel being inside the body of my father?" You answer sarcastically.

"Tim, show your mother some manners." Your father says.

"Sorry, mom. I mean..."

"It's okay son. It's difficult to think how to address each other. But between the five of us you can call me mom." Your mother explains.

"Okay mom." You tell her not trying to think too hard about it.

"So Tim, your sister told us that you're up to speed?" Your father asks you.

"Yes." You solemnly nod. "We have to pretend to be each other in public."

"Alright, alright." Your father says thinking what to say. Your father isn't much of a talker.

"I'm, we're sorry about this Tim." Your mother says suddenly. "We didn't want this to happen."

"It's okay, mom. I know it." You tell your mother.

"No, you don't know. We didn't know anything about this at all. When we woke up we didn't know what had happened. The last thing we remembered is your father hitting that truck. When we woke up those two doctors were standing there."

"So, you didn't sign us to do this?" You ask your parents incredulous. You expected the doctors to have permission from your parents to do something like this. But if what they say is the truth they were just as surprised as you are.

"We didn't do it. Mind you if we would have known about it, we surely would have accepted it." Your father tells you.

"Why? I mean look at us. We're freaks, you're supposed to be a married couple and now you're siblings and I'm married to my own sister, do you know how gross that is on so many different levels?"

"I know Tim, dammit I know." Your father says pounding his fist on the bedside table. "Ouch." He says rubbing his hand. "If we would have known we would have your bodies we surely would think of something else. But we're alive Tim, that's the most important thing. Would you have be happy ending up dead?"

"No." You hesitantly answer.

"Then we should be happy that we're alive even though we look like this. We can do this Tim. So keep your chin up." Your father tells you. He then stands up and leaves the room.

"I'm sorry Tim, your father doesn't like it either. When he realized that he has go through high school again he wouldn't speak with me for an hour." Your mother explains your father's behavior.

"I can understand that. I mean I have to take over his job and I'm not looking forward to it either." You tell your mother.

"Luckily we all have some weeks off before everything starts again. Well I better go find your father." Your mother tells you. She gives you a kiss on the cheek. "Mom." You whine. You hate it when she does that, especially since it was now Tab's body she was using. A kiss from your mother you could tolerate, but a kiss from your sister was one thing that you didn't like. "Sorry." Your mother says with an apologetic smile and quickly leaves the room.
