It turns out you actually had multiple pieces in your hand, and as you pull them out you feel the remaining pieces settle back into place. Looking at the pieces, you see that they resemble emojis: one is a green smiley face labelled "happiness," the other an angry red face (anger), the third a pink heart (lust), and the fourth is a blue frowny face with a tear falling from the eye (sadness).
"Hmm, are those all my emotions? Well, I guess they're the important ones anyway," you say in a monotone voice. You looked in the mirror, and saw that you had a blank expression, with your eyes looking tired and a bit dull. You supposed it was bad to not have those emotions in your head, but you honestly didn't mind it that much. Not having emotions felt...well, it didn't really feel like anything, honestly.
Your stomach rumbled slightly, which made you remember that it was lunchtime. Putting the emotions in your pocket, you walked over to the kitchen, leaving the sword where it was. Looking in the fridge, you found it really hard to decide what to eat. You didn't have preferences anymore, so you were stuck with analysis paralysis. You thought of what was most nutritious vs what would taste best, how many calories you needed, etc.
"Maybe emotions would be useful here." You reached into your pocket and pulled out "Happiness," and dropped into your head.
Now you knew exactly what you wanted to eat. You cut yourself a big piece of leftover cake from the fridge, not thinking for a second about whether it was a good choice or not. It made you really happy, and that's all that mattered. You sat down on your comfy couch and greedily ate the cake, basking in pure joy. You wondered what to do next.
