Naturally, Amy's love of both business and food had led her to form a company named after herself that specialized in the gastronomic field. It also meant an 'employee' discount for many of their products.

As the elevator doors parted, she surveyed her 'domain'. People in appropriate business attire bustled at desks, some more casually dressed folks ran the mail or made coffee. Only occasionally was one of her workers noticeably plump. She vaguely wondered if she should do something about that.

She of course had the best office, it was roomy and had a corner view. She strutted on in and was greeted by a perky assistant, who presented her with a large cup of a coffee drink with lots of whipped cream.

"Thank you, Zora. what's the agenda look like today?" she took a huge swig, licking the cream from her lips. That pretzel had hardly any effect on her gnawing stomach.

"9 o'clock general meeting, Miss Gainsworth," Zora chirped. "Reporting quarterly earnings, new venture proposals... "

"Nothing until then?" she tried to contain her excitement. She might be able to get a few snackings in, it was only 8:15 right now.

"Actually! I was hoping to have... a private word," blurted a newcomer as she bustled through the door.

"Miss Madison, I think I have time for you." Amy didn't begrudge the interruption, Miss Madison was, after all, head of all R&D, and her research was helping Gainsworth F & FLP expand faster than Amy's behind. Though Boss Lady she looked almost slender next to Miss Madison herself.

"Er... I was really hoping it would be... private," the scientist whispered, indicating she wanted more than just a word. "It's... a breakthrough."

Amy liked the sound of that. She prided herself on being on the cutting edge, despite being a smaller firm. But she would have to prepare for the meeting... and her stomach took that moment to start growling!

"Zora... " she began.
