As Amy began to eat, she could feel something inside her. Not that surprising, really; after all, she had summoned something directly into her stomach just before summoning Hoggrah. What was currently occupying her stomach was a Pit Rat. They were noted for living in holes in the ground and for consuming large quantities of food as if their stomach was bottomless (hence the name). The idea was that the pit rat in her stomach would eat enough food to allow space for even more food. Then, once the contest was over, the rat would be digested away. Sure, she'd probably gain a lot of weight after all was said and done, but Amy wouldn't have declared an eating contest if she had been worried about her waistline.
No, the main worry here was if Hoggrah figured her plan out before the contest was over. Amy was pretty sure that Hoggrah wasn't skilled in detection magic, but one could really never tell with demons. At any rate, if Hoggrah discovered Amy's "edge," then things could go really badly. After all, having outside help in a one-on-one contest would probably be considered cheating. And if there's one things demons hated (even more than paladins), it was being cheated.
So Amy shoveled food into her mouth, much of it consumed by the pit rat as soon as it exited her esophagus. At any rate, the die was cast. All she could do was try to keep up, hope that the rat's stomach was really as bottomless as the stories said, and pray that Hoggrah didn't discover her duplicity.
