Amy moved quickly down the street, silently cursing the fact that she'd been eating the pretzel. She only hoped that she would have enough room in her stomach for the food that she'd have to eat tonight as she headed for one of Pepper City's hottest new restaurants, Les Tres Gourmet.
You see, Amy worked for The Pepperian, a monthly news magazine that quite a lot of people in the city read. Her particular role was as a restaurant reviewer; she'd go to a restaurant, sample their menu, then write about her experience in the magazine's culture section and on her food blog, which was attached the the magazine's website. She'd earned a reputation as a tough but fair critic, and her reviews could raise a restaurant's profile or shut it down.
Fortunately, the Gourmet wasn't too far from the park, and she arrived with plenty of time to spare. Her first impressions of it were decent enough. There was some light accordion music playing in the background and some pictures of Paris hung on the walls of the interior. The staff was competent too, bringing her to her seat and getting a glass of wine for her.
Still, atmosphere could only get you so far. How would the food taste?
