New year, new journey, new beginnings

"Hello there, I'm Professor Spruce, welcome to the world of Pokémon! Being that it's your eighteenth birthday, it's time for you to receive your first Pokemon and embark on a grand journey!" You stare directly at the Pokemon on the table, barely paying attention to what the Professor of the Carnovo region had to say. "Now then, are you a boy or a girl?"

You gave him a confused stare as you cocked an eyebrow. "I'm clearly a boy!"

"Very well then, and what is your name?"

"How did you even let me in here? My name is Jack!"

"Ah yes, I remember now. Now then, which Pokemon would you like to start with? We have the grass Pokemon Treecko, the water Pokemon Squirtle, or the Fire Pokemon Chimchar. We have some others in the back as well. Which will you choose?"
