Dawn woke with a start and instantly shivered. She was having the dream again....no...it was more like a flashback; dreams were elusive and filled with impossible things. It wasn't a dream at all. It was a memory being played over in Dawn's mind...the time when she, Ash and Brock had helped saved the Lake Trio from Team Galactic. But why was she having a dream about an event that had happened years ago? Dawn thought back. Ash, Brock and herself were riding in Cynthia's SUV when the Three had teleported them right into Team Galactic's HQ. In her dream she had heard the Three legendary pokemon talking to each other....when they had decided to teleport Ash, Brock and Dawn.
Dawn was lying in bed in her house in Twinleaf Town. After all these years, the memory of saving the Three Lake Pokemon was still fresh in her mind. It was like it had happened yesterday. Dawn looked out of the window and saw it was mid-morning.
"Dawn!" came her mother's voice from downstairs. "shouldn't you be off to meet your old friends?"
"Ah, crap!" yelled out Dawn. "that's right! I totally forgot!"
Dawn had found that Ash and Brock were in Sinnoh a few days ago. Ash had called Dawn just yesterday to let her know. He explained that he had been having a dream about the Lake Guardian that he had bonded with--Azelf--that told him to return to Sinnoh. Brock, at the same time, had been dreaming about Uxie--the Lake Guardian that had bonded with him--and Uxie had told Brock to return to Sinnoh also. At the time Dawn hadn't been dreaming about Mespirit...but on this morning she had dreamed about the Three, not just Mespirit. Ash, Brock and Dawn were to meet in front of the Pokemon Center in Twinleaf Town.
Dawn jumped out of bed and put on her usual outfit. She ran down the stairs and waved a goodbye to her mother and headed off to meet her two old friends.
When Dawn had arrived at the Pokemon Center on her bike, there was Ash and Brock waiting for her. The three friends greeted each other warmly and after a bit of talking, they each decided to have breakfast at a near restaurant. The three talked things over breakfast.
"So why do you think that those Lake Guardians called us back to Sinnoh?" asked Brock. "They're not in trouble again, are they?"
"I doubt it" said Ash. "No, I was under the impression that each of the Three would like to give us some kind of reward for saving them. Azelf told me so.....well..perhaps not flat-out said it"
"After all these years?" asked Dawn.
"The Three spent those years bickering about what kind of reward" said Brock. "Uxie told me all about that. Rather forcefully I might add"
"Couldn't they have given our rewards anyway?" asked Dawn. "without contacting the three of us or bringing us back together?"
"Kanto is probably too far away" said Ash. "even those Three have limits"
"Pika" chimed in Pikachu who was sitting on Ash's shoulder as usual.
"So...do we go to the lakes?" asked Dawn. "or what?"
"Going to the lakes sounds like a fine idea!" said Ash. "....uhh...which lake is closer?"
Brock whipped out a map and looked over it. "Lake Verity. It's right outside town"
