Living alone, you don't care about the absolute state of the place you live in, or how something as simple as cleaning up a bit could improve the quality of your sleep as you retake your bed from the trash. There's no time for that, because today you have to clean yourself and get out.
Your normal weekend day would involve sleeping a lot more, wasting the day away on the computer on more sessions that at this point served more as virtual drug injections to keep you going in the meaningless road of life, and if the weather agreed probably going for a walk to whatever direction you felt was appropriate, trying to make sense of what went wrong and how could you fix it, or if you could fix it, or if it was worth to even try. But today you had a purpose.
You groaned with discomfort as your body seemed to agree with the painful task that you were going to undertake for the day, you had to go to your sister's house and watch over her ugly and noisy kid because she had some sort of emergency and her usual contacts bailed on her. Your relationship with your sister was cold, like your relationship with the rest of your relatives, but you were still on polite terms, a sort of neutral agreement where you wisely acknowledged being related by blood didn't mean you had to get in each others way at all. Sure enough, she reached you out as some sort of last resort, someone dependable enough to get the job done at least for a day and that's it.
You took a quick shower and shook your head while making yourself presentable in the small bathroom mirror, wondering if that kid was still as noisy as the last time you saw it a few months ago. You thought you didn't mind kids, but that time the twerp was particularly insufferable for some reason and you weren't looking forward to a whole day of it, or of taking care of someone else when you seemed unable to sort out your own bed.
You made a last check for what you needed and left the house, prepping yourself out for a day even less remarkable than usual.
