This choice: Go down the unusual path • Go Back...
Chapter #4
Who Left This Here?
by: Unknown
Brick's curiosity got the better of him.
The army cadet continued his jog through the new, foreign pathway. Despite the park usually having very few trees, Brick soon found there to be a dozen of them on both sides of the track. Before he knew it, Brick was suddenly in a forest.
Despite every rational thought telling him that he should head back, a small yet persistent voice in the back of Brick's head told him to go on.
Brick didn't know why, but the smaller voice managed to overpower all the others.

Brick continued on, eventually jogging out of the new forest area.
Strangely though, it led him back to his original path.
Brick pondered how it was possible; he was moving in a completely straight line.
Brick looked back. The new path was no longer there.
He couldn't have imagined it, because the pendant was around his neck. Maybe his mind just wandered as he came across the necklace.
The cadet shrugged and just continued jogging like normal.
Little did he know that the pendant he just put on was a powerful amulet.
Brick didn't noticed the slight glow now coming from the ruby. As he continued jogging...
