This choice: "Grown since you were last here." • Go Back... (Note: This is a branch in which Hugo never stops growing and focuses on the ascension of a dog on his way to Godly sizes and accompanying omnipotence. If this is not what you are looking for, you should try the other path.)
You resisted the urge to drop your head into your hands in despair at the news. That was the one thing that you had hoped to not have to hear. Instead, you let out a breath through your nose and reply.
"All right, I'm on my way. Have everything ready for me for when I get there will you?"
Alexander assured you that he would have everything set up before the time that you got to his estate and with a few parting words of thanks, you hung up. You put your phone back in your pocket, looked up at the ceiling and groaned.
"How the hell did I get into this mess?" You asked up to no-one in particular, not really expecting an answer. Suddenly, you couldn't help but imagine looking up at Hugo, his face the only thing you could see, as he loomed what felt like miles overhead, his immense form blotting out the sky, the sheer power terrifying and chilling you as much as the look of loyalty and admiration in his eyes soothed and warmed you. You clench your teeth and run a hand over your face, attempting to dispel such fantasies from your mind.
But while you could shake off the visions, you couldn't shake off the question.
Why the hell did you get so excited whenever the thought of Hugo as a giant came around?
Pushing that thought to the side, you quickly readied yourself and rushed to the Chemical Estate, desperate to learn of your beloved pet's condition.
After nearly destroying the buzzer, you raced up to the entrance where Alexander was waiting for you with an unsettlingly anxious look on his face. He was dressed casually, in only a pair of white running shoes, a pair of black jogging pants and a plain white t-shirt. That was immediately a massive red flag for you, Alexander was brilliant but not perfect. One of his flaws was his near obsession with always looking his best. Such a casual way of dressing suggested that something was horribly, horribly wrong. And as you slowed to a stop in front of the large marble fountain in front of the main entrance, the sight that he hadn't shaved was another major concern. Alexander was always perfectly clean-shaven. Something was definitely wrong.
"Oh, God. How big is he?" Were the first words out of your mouth as you ran across from your car.
"Quite big. However, it's nothing compared to how big I expect him to get in the future. I don't want to rush you, but when you've finished reuniting, I need to talk with you in my office. I've got some seriously important predictions I need to show you." With that, Alexander showed you through the hall and pushed open the doors to the lounge.
The sight that met your eyes was so shocking that you were impressed that you actually remained standing.
You feel your jaw drop in astonishment as you take in what you are seeing. The last time that you saw him, Hugo was easily far bigger than an average German Shepherd, with his size being around twice the usual maximum of his breed. Standing before you, however, is an impossibly immense titan of a dog, easily bigger than the tallest horses, reaching a height of what you estimated at 8 feet and 8 inches!
You were really standing in front of a dog the size of an elephant.
The fact sends a cold shiver of something that isn't fear flowing down your spine, and you don't want to start thinking about why that is again.
Hugo's tail began to wag furiously at the sight of you before pushing his huge head into your chest, nearly bowling you over as he nuzzled you, clearly happy to see you after such a long absence. Gently pushing his head to the side slightly, you take a couple of steps forward and extend your right hand towards the giant canine, placing it on one of Hugo's massive and very solid chest muscles. God, it felt like solid steel under his warm, soft fur! And you were all too happy to get to feel said lovely pelt again as you pressed into Hugo's huge chest, lovingly embracing him as he returned the gesture as best he could, considering he was over two feet taller than you, his head curled around your back, with huffs and groans of delight emanating from his broad torso.
Out of the corner of your peripheral vision, you can see Alexander walk to his office door on the diagonal wall opposite the door you came in, while you tell Hugo to join you as you sit down on the sofa, accompanied by a few soft encouragements.
Hugo followed your lead and parked himself on the love seat perpendicular to the sofa in front of the fireplace. Unfortunately, with such tremendous size, comes tremendous weight. The smallest of African elephants reach around 5 tons. Hugo was bigger than the smallest of African elephants.
The love seat let out a long, drawn-out groan of agony as the wood sagged under the immense weight of Hugo's body as he tentatively lowered his rear onto it. You held your breath as Hugo paused, the groans falling silent as Hugo stilled for a few seconds before placing the rest of his full weight upon the love seat.
Hugo didn't even have the chance to rest so much as half of his weight before the love seat suddenly and dramatically collapsed; the wooden frame was crushed into shattered splinters and the stuffing exploded outwards all over the floor as the fabric containing it burst under the sudden increase of pressure. exponentially
You lept back from Hugo, startled, resting against the opposite armrest. You spied Alexander staring at Hugo in surprise out of the corner of your eye before your attention was quickly grabbed by Hugo again. He let out a high-pitched whine, big brown eyes wide, ears flattened against his head, which he had lowered down so that it was at eye level, instead of looming nearly 3 feet above you.
That tugged at your heartstrings and you immediately shot up and hugged the huge dog as best you could in an attempt to soothe him.
"Shush, shush. It's okay Hugo. It's okay. I know you didn't mean it. It's alright. You're still a good boy."
The effect on Hugo was immediate. His ears perked up and his big tail began to wag happily, as he bumped his head into your chest, tongue lolling out of his mouth in happy relief.
Not wanting to either end up coated in saliva by Hugo's tongue or to keep looking at those impressively sharp teeth of his, you decided you should go and see what Alexander wanted to talk to you about. With a few soft words and a pat on his muscular flank, you made your way to the office. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
