You could say that the Thompsons were a nuclear family. Mom and Dad. Brother and Sister. Dad, Phil Thompson, was five ten and his job paid enough for he and his family to live comfortably. A rare thing in an age where both parents had to work to make ends meet. Mom, Mary Thompson, was shorter than her husband. Standing only five foot one it was a pain in the ass at times to grab something off the top shelf when she went grocery shopping, but she managed. Seventeen year old Sarah Thompson, the oldest child, was taller than her mother by three inches and was a bit leaner than her mother due to her athletic activities in school. At age twelve Joey was the shortest in the family being only four foot even. That of course was expected for his age. Like his father he wore glasses. Something he found annoying at times. He often wished he could wear regular sunglasses but due to his poor eyesight that was impossible. One day he hoped to get corrective eye surgery.
The family car pulled into the driveway after an excursion to the mall. As they walked up to the house the had no inkling of who and what was in their house, he of course was aware of them the moment the car came to a stop and they climbed out.
As they stepped into the house and approached the closet the floor shook, unnoticed by them, the malibu rocked on it's shocks. With no time to waste, Scott ran back to his car and hoped for the best just as the door swung open. Shoes of all sizes rained down around him like falling cruise ships.Mom, Dad, and Sis each took turns placing their shoes, flipflops, and sneakers into the closet. When Joey's turn came he just dropped them and didn't care where they landed.
