Chapter #7

Tough Going

Scott tries as best he can, but he's only able to get about halfway up before he loses his grip and tumbles back down into the smelly -- but cushioned -- sole of the shoe. Again, he gives it a go; this time he only gets a third of the way up. He's panting as he pulls himself up off the ground, and exhausted; how can it be possible that he's so small he can't even get out of someone's shoe?

Suddenly, the rumbling comes back; Scott shudders in terror. What if it's the teen girl coming back to get the cleat? Oh, God, he could be crushed!

His world is bathed in light, as the closet doors creak open. He stares in mute horror at the enormous, backlit figure of....
