Audrey and Elise fell asleep quickly in the darkness of the living room. Their light snores filled the air. On Audrey's pillow, a group of ant-sized teens were trying unsuccessfully to do the same.
"Ugh!" Lucy covered her ears, trying to block out the earth-shaking rumbles. She rolled over to shoot an annoyed glare at her huge cousin. The giant woman slumbered peacefully, her massive cheek resting on the pillow. A thick flow of saliva oozed from her parted lips. "Would you shut up!?" The tiny girl pulled off her shoe, heaving it at the looming face. It bounced harmlessly off the wall that was Audrey's lower lip, landing the swamp of drool below.
"Dude, this is nothing," Riley said. She'd given up trying to sleep and was watching Netflix on her phone. "I'd rather deal with her like this than when she's awake."
"Yeah," Penny agreed. "Be thankful she didn't make us sleep in her sock or something."
Suddenly, the heavy rumbles intensified in the distance. The shrunken group could only watch as their colossus of an aunt rolled over. The bed creaked under her titanic weight. Elise halved the distance between herself and Audrey, leaving the tiny figures in an uncomfortably close valley between their two towering faces.
"Honestly, a sock couldn't be much worse than this," Peter said as a miasma of stale breath began to wash over them. "It'd at least be quieter."
Lucy let out an exasperated groan. With Elise facing them, the snoring had doubled in volume. "I'll never get to sleep like this."
