Chapter #4

A new leaf

    by: ItsMe Author IconMail Icon
         "So what do you think?"
The micen looked anxious, twiddling her fingers. You held your gaze at her before dipping your spoon in for more.
"Let me think about it." You chewed through the cereal and the micen only got more nervous as the flakes disappeared more and more until only she was left. If I keep eating micen at the rate I am then they are going to be as sparse as they are in Risa's apartment. I need to make sure that doesn't happen. You gulped down the last bite of cereal and lifted the bowl up to your mouth. You pinned the micen down with your spoon as you tilted the bowl and drank all the milk around it. You then set the bowl down. "Alright, I thought about it and sure. I'll take care of your friends."
"You will?" The micen nearly jumped in joy, before stopping. "What do you mean by 'take care of' Solace?"
"It's not what you think. I mean I'll make sure your colony is in good hands. Now where is it?"
"It's in a drawer," She pointed across the room near the silverware drawer. "You can't miss it."
"What is your name?" You ask the teal mouse.
         "Ray." She responded.
You set Ray down on the counter and headed towards the drawer that held the colony. You sat down, and was a bit eager of the event that may unfold. You slide open the double-decker drawer and set it on your lap. You peered inside and was amazed at what you saw: Micen! A dozen and a half. Some toppled on each other from the inertia of pulling the drawer. Like pulling a rug out from someone.
Many of them shivered, but some held firm. "It's okay, I'm not going to hurt anyone. I promise." A lot of the micen stopped trembling in few, you looked to the left and noticed they chewed a hole through the side of the drawer. "Did you guys do that?". Some nod. You sigh and shrug it off. "Well, you guys don't have to do it again. I've agreed to be the leader of your colony, and with it all its benefits." when you finsih saying that, some micen cheered and other hugged each other. They were glad that not only do they live another day but their lives are about to get much better.

By the next day there were wooden shacks being built on the far counter. You set Gertrude and Ray to be peace keepers when you aren't around. You also gave them rules to follow such as: Taking a designated amount of food from the pantry, as well as designated food, no interrupting Solace's sleep, no taking anything that doesn't belong to you.
It's a curiosity on what happens next.

You have the following choices:

1. Other colonies contact you.+

*Noteb*
2. One colony seeks to disrupt yours

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
