Chapter #5A random passerby by: Unknown Jack couldn't help but look down at himself, seeing through his now colorless body that held his physical body on the other side, it was like he was made of tainted glass. The sight was disturbing and strange to say the least, but the girl floating in front of him, Annie, seemed pretty nonchalant about the whole thing, probably since she'd been dead for a few years.
But the thing she'd said before...
"So I can just... possess people?" He asked, cupping his chin with his colorless hand, intrigued by the concept. "So do I just walk into that person? And what happens to that person's soul when I possess them?"
Annie just shrugged. "Yeah, you just kinda float into them firstly. Secondly, the possessed body will enter a sleeping state until depossessed. Their soul can't be kicked out, not by you anyway."
For a moment, Jack wasn't sure whether or not to take that as either a compliment or an insult. He was also unsure of another thing. "You said live a normal life, so I could just take someone else's life from them with no resistance?" If the possessed were put to sleep, then stealing the life of somebody else would be trivial at best.
She nodded.
"Then... couldn't I just take someone's body and live the rest of their life?"
"Are you going to?"
"...no?" The idea of possessing someone was interesting, but Jack couldn't even imagine living some random person's life until they died.
Annie shrugged again. "Then you shouldn't worry about it."
Jack just sweatdropped at that, though she payed him little mind as she just crossed her arms and stared at him, clearly expecting him to follow through on his questioning and possess somebody. Though Jack couldn't help but feel a slight unease at the idea now.
But before any of that continued, Jack and Annie both physically jolted at the sound of his room door swinging open, the sound of the handle slamming into the wall and increasing the size of an ever growing mark reverberated for a moment.
Jack realized nearly instantly who had entered, he didn't even have to look since there was only one person who'd slam his door open like that.
"Jack~" His sister, Evelyn, walked into the room, humming a sing-song like tone as she approached the slumbering body that Jack once inhabited, completely unaware of the two spirits floating above her. Her long blond hair swayed back and forth and her large chest bobbed slightly up and down. "Evelyn!?" He cried out, though she didn't register him speaking at all.
"I didn't hear her approaching." Annie's voice came out slightly disgruntled, clearing her throat as she realized how strange she'd just sounded a moment later. "But this might be a good opportunity."
Opportunity?
"Wakie wakie Jackerson~!" Evelyn shouted, shaking Jack's body and covers back and forth until they were barely holding onto his former body, meanwhile Annie had slowly floated behind Evelyn, giving a sidelong glance back at the room's owner.
"If you're so concerned, then this is what it looks like." She spoke, moving herself forward as Jack finally realized what her goal was. "Wha-hey!"
But it was too late. Annie's uncolored form simply touched Jack's older sister's body one second, and the next she had been pulled completely inside of it. Evelyn's dark blue eyes started to dilate as her body quivered and shook, locks of her long blond hair dropped into her eyes as she finally stopped moving, standing still for a fraction of a second before she let out a breath of fresh air.
Only, her previous happy and cheery expression was now very serious looking.
"Evelyn?" Jack asked, though she didn't respond to him.
"Haven't done that in a while." She remarked, looking down at herself for a moment before shaking her long hair from her face. "I'm already sick of this."
And with that, Evelyn started shaking once again, a familiar washed out ghost slowly fading back into visibility inside of her body. Annie pulling herself from the older girl's body as it dropped onto it's knees and then it's side, with it's former controller standing above it, impassive.
Jack just stood still, gaping at what he'd seen. "You... you possessed her."
"That I did." Annie spoke, clearly a little bit affected by the possession itself. "I'd have stayed in her body longer, but her bodies a bit... much in certain places."
It didn't take long before Jack mentally gagged at her statement, realizing what she'd meant.
"Although, if you wanted to you could always use her body instead." Annie suggested coolly. "Super convenient."
Jack physically gagged this time. "No! She's my sister!"
"Yeah, that's why I suggested it."
Jack couldn't help but feel conflicted, unsure if she feel bad for Annie in that moment, or whatever family she had before now.
"If it's really got you so hung up over it, why not go outside and possess someone?" She asked, clearly intent on you trying to use you're newfound abilities at least once. "It'll get boring after a while, but it's pretty fun initially."
"Okay, fine." Jack agreed, feeling slightly like he was being forced into trying them out by this random girl he'd just met. "Just... give me a moment, okay?"
"...fine."
And a moment he did get, having a slight chance to look down again at the beneath him, ruminating about how he was now a ghost who could possess anyone he wanted, how he was currently talking with some girl who'd been dead for over half of his time in high school, and how he was now going to be going outside as a spirit.
Wordlessly, you moved yourself away from the room and out the wall, slight perturbed by the ease of phasing through that easily. Turning around, Jack noted how he was now staring at the familiar wall of his home.
And though he waited for a moment, Annie didn't follow him outside.
"Huh... weird."
Jack just shrugged it off though, she was pretty weird, and she didn't seem very interested in much from what he could see, it was probably best to just leave her alone.
So, Jack floated away from his house, his non-corporeal form floating away from the home he'd been living at for his entire life now, giving one last glance back at the life he was losing before continuing onwards.
Floating down the street, Jack couldn't help but feel like he was doing something inherently wrong right now. Like he was some kind of evil force that could and would do great harm onto others if given some kind of chance. The thought followed him as he turned down an unfamiliar street, Jack having not been very active around his neighborhood all of the years he's been... alive.
Finally Jack stopped himself, looking around and finding two potential candidates for his first possession.
The first was someone sitting on a wooden step-up porch, a white roof over her head as she cradled a baby in her arms, the lady herself resting on a white cushioned porch swing with her back facing the neighbors yard. Just one look at her was all Jack needed to be convinced if possessing her. Her beautiful pale face, her short platinum blond hair, the white knee length dress with a green jacket, with two humongous sized breasts prominently Pushkin out, all capped off by a pair of strappy sandals adorning her dainty, black nailed feet. She was sitting down st her own home, which was perfect for blending in and making as little ruckus as possible.
The second was a young woman walking down the street, talking with a darker skinned lady as she went. The girl was quite the looker, with shoulder length black hair, brown eyes, a striped white and cyan shirt, form fitting jeans, and a pair of baby blue sneakers. Jack noted that she wasn't as well endowed as the lady sitting down, but she still had a nice, moderate chest size either way. Her friend being there to witness it was a pain, but blending in and getting to where he needed with an unknown assistant could prove quite useful.
With that in mind, Jack chose to possess... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
