This choice: Ponyvillle's Library (Twilight and Rarity) • Go Back...Chapter #4Getting some magical help by: aCtirUs The Ponyville library! Perfect, you thought. If anyone is going to know how to set this right its Twilight Sparkle, and honestly, she'd probably be the most willing to help, if only out of pure curiosity. With that in mind, you began to make your way towards the library's front door, which shouldnt have been as daunting a task as it was now, given your height.
The walk from the small grassy outcropping to the library was harrowing to say the least. It was actually some time in the mid to late evening and the dirt path leading to the door was not well lit. Strange sounds were all around you and if getting stepped on had never been a fear of yours before, it certainly was now. All it would take was some strolling pony to put a hoof wrong in the dark and your journey here would be over. You picked your way carefully towards your destination, occasionally tripping over small stones with your clumsy new height. You're stride was meant for someone much bigger and you had not adapted well to walking at this size. After a good few minutes of careful walking and occasional tripping, you found yourself at the foot of the door. Now the next big task, getting the attention of someone inside.
Thinking quickly, you found a sizeable stone and raised it above your head to slam it on the door. The resulting thud seemed to echo quite loudly inside and before long you could hear movement. Hoofsteps began coming towards the door. Success! You continued knocking, just to be sure.
"Alright, alright!" A voice grumbled from inside."Sheesh its getting to a point where a pony cant get a lick of sleep around here..."
The latch on the door began to open and suddenly you realized the door opens outwards. As it swung open, the edge of the door caught you square in the chest, throwing you against the doorframe and pinning you there. Terrific...
Twilight Sparkle poked her head out of the door and looked out into the night, confused and searching for the source of the knocking that had woken her from a particularly well deserved slumber.
"Hello?" She called out, but heard no reply. "If this is somepony playing tricks, you really need to pick a better one...or at least do it when ponies arent sleeping." To which something replied.
"ow..."
"What? What was that?" Twilight looked frantically about. She was certain that was a voice, however faint.
"Down here..." You managed to cough out, attempting to push the heavy door away from your chest. Twilight brought her head to level with yours, her lavender eyes catching the moonlight and practically glowing. Or maybe they were glowing, she was magical after all.
"Oh my goodness, Im so sorry about hitting you with the door...I had no idea you were there!" She said apologetically
"Its fine" You said, cracking your back and and feeling as though several bones just snapped back in to place."Im just glad you heard me."
"You make quite a lot of noise for someone so small." She smiled. "How can I help?" Just like Twilight to be so accepting and willing to help, you thought and smiled back.
"Well, as you might have guessed, Im a human, and until just recently I was quite a bit..." Before you could finish, you caught the confused look on Twilights face.
"You're a what?" She replied quizzically.
"A human. You know...homo...oh what is it....homosapien! Thats it!" You proclaimed proudly, but felt slightly less so when you saw she still clearly had no idea what you were talking about. You sighed. It made sense, you didnt remember there ever having been a human so much as mentioned in the show. "Look, the point is...until just a few...I dont know. hour ago I guess, I was not this size, age, or far from my home. And I came here because I..." You thought about how to phrase this best. Explaining that you knew about her from a television show would have just come off as gibberish, and you were pretty Twilight, while sufficiently intrigued, was having a hard time grasping just what you were. "I had heard from travelling ponies you were the one to talk to when it came to magical problems, so here I am." You finished and braced yourself for what she would say. Twilight was now sitting on her haunches, looking inquisitively at you as you finished your explanation. She smiled again and nodded.
"Well I certainly appreciate good rumours of my skills. Still I've never heard of a human before. Where do you come from? You said you were a long way from home. Did you come all this way just to find me?"
"To be honest, I dont know how I got here. But I knew where here was when I did and I was lucky enough to recognize your library. So can you help me?" Twilight thought for a moment and then rose to her feet. She turned back to the library and motioned for you to follow.
The two of you walked in to the massive tree that contained the Ponyville library. Well, massive to you at any rate.
"I dont know...most of my spells are tailored to ponykind. There are some that are useable on creatures and vegetables and that sort of thing, but I dont know if any of them would be effective on a human." Twilights horn began to glow as books slid from the shelves and floated down around her. She began leafing through the pages of many books at once, seemingly reading all of them. "Hmm...." She grumbled something to herself and dropped a bunch of the books and pulled more down. You began to see where all the mess Spike was usually left cleaning up came from. You found yourself a step ladder to pull yourself onto and sat down. After a few minutes of silent reading, Twilight shot bolt upright and dropped all her books but one. "Here we go, maybe this will work!" | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
