"... and?" you asked, sure you won't like the answer.

"We are best friends! We have lived together for over 2 years, and the lease isn't up for another 4 months," Desmond huffed, the stink of alcohol thrown into your face.

You cough, trying to breath something besides the smell of cheap liquor mixed with morning breath. Desmond 'helpfully' thumped your back with a finger. You continued to cough for a moment before the air cleared enough. "You can move in with me after this lease is up. But this other apartment is far too good of a deal to wait!"

Desmond frowned. "What about the rent for the next four months, am I supposed to pay it all on my own?"

"I was going to help with that still." You hadn't been planning on it, but you could probably swing it if you cut down on bar hopping and one night stands.
