This choice: No, and you try to figure out how the notebook works. • Go Back...Chapter #5Turning Down Francesca's Offer by: Unknown "Sorry," you say, looking down at the notebook in your hand. "I've got some things to do right now."
"Oh, I'm the one who's sorry," she says, moving close to you and accidentally-on-purpose brushing a hand across your crotch. "I'll go help Donald with dinner, and see if a nice meal puts you in the mood." She turns on her heel and walks down the hall, heading for the back staircase.
You watch her rear end bouncing back and forth, then recall what you were doing and go into your room, shutting the double doors behind you.
The contents of your walls arrest your attention. You'd had some framed abstract art pieces -- "oh, they just go so well with the decorating scheme," your mother had said -- but now it's framed black-and-white photographs of nude women. They're clearly supposed to be art and not porn, but still, they're naked women. You find it hard to believe that your parents approved of them.
But you really find it hard to believe that they would approve of you having sex with a maid -- with anyone, really -- and they would have to know, right? You take another look at what you'd written, "What if Francesca the maid was totally hot, and I had sex with her a lot?" She'd obviously changed to become hot, and, you guess, other things had to change to make it so that you had sex with her a lot?
You sit down at your desk in front of your Alienware system and bring up Facebook on the middle monitor. Nothing seems too out of the ordinary at first glance, but you just have to scroll down a little bit in your newsfeed until you get to Scott Hernandez saying, "Lindsey and I fucked for the third time in three days!" There are a couple of "whoo-hoo"-style comments, and then Brian Fink replies with "Let us know when you get to 7! That's where I was at with Aimee until she got her period. :("
Next one down is Eric Yount: "Lizzie was feeling good after cheerleading practice, so she let me try anal. It was awesome, although she wants to do some stretching exercises before next time." That has a smattering of comments, including Megan O'Dowd replying, "I told Lizzie she'd like it almost as much as you would!"
And the next one down is Erin Willis. "OMG, Pablo ate me out after cheerleading! What a talented tongue!" You're a little surprised, since Pablo is kind of a geek -- but then you happen to hover over the "Like" list, and see both Jennifer and Ron Willis, Erin's parents.
So from what you can tell, the world -- or at least your school friends and their parents -- have become more accepting of and open about sex, all because of your "what if."
You go back a page in the notebook, to look again at what Susan wrote. All the evidence seems to point to the fact that Susan wasn't an 18-year-old hottie, and that your family wasn't super-rich. You try to imagine yourself living the way most of your classmates do, in a relatively small suburban house on a relatively small piece of land, with only seven or eight rooms and no live-in staff. It's very hard to picture, since all your memories are of growing up in a life of wealth and privilege.
You wonder what would happen if you crossed out something already written in the notebook -- but then you flip ahead, to an inviting blank page, now believing you can write "what if" anything, and things will change to accommodate it. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
