What trouble can a human get into while working at a newspaper for giant monsters?

This choice: Aurelia, werejackal handywoman  •  Go Back...
Chapter #7

One Predator or the Other

    by: Unknown
You try to climb Graces' tongue but to no avail, you're still slipping and it looks like she'd finally eat you. "Mazee!" you yell. "Willa! I'd even settle for Blake!" But you doubt anyone can hear you screaming as the walls of the werecheetah's mouth would no doubt muffle the sound. You're certain this is it but then you hear a grunt and you're suddenly pushed to the front of Grace's mouth.

The next thing you knew the teeth opened up and you fell out into a giant furry hand. You didn't know who it was, but since the fur wasn't bright yellow, it obviously wasn't Grace. Speak of the devil, you look up and see that Grace was holding her stomach in pain. Somebody punched her. That's why she spat you out. You stand up and let out a sigh of relief as you shake off cheetah drool and hold onto one of the hairs.

Then suddenly you see that the fur in this hand was a familiar teal color and gulp before you look up at a familiar pair of mismatched eyes belonging to a certain werejackal. "Aurelia!" you yell. Aurelia looks down at you with a large toothy smile. You weren't rescued. The predator just changed. Grace recovers from that punch and gets up before growling at Aurelia. "What's the big deal Aurelia?" she asks. "I almost had him." Aurelia shook her head. "He was in my mouth first Grace, that makes him mine." This was true, the last time you worked with Aurelia, she had you half-way down her throat and almost swallowed you. If she hadn't sneezed, you'd be jackal chow.

Grace wasn't amused to have her prey stolen however and held out her hands to show Aurelia her claws. "Listen here you bastard child of Anubis, you had your chance with the morsel. He's mine." Aurelia pinches Grace on one of her hips and Grace grunts in pain. "I don't think so Spots," says Aurelia with a sneer. "Your ass is much too fat already." "Like you'd know," says Grace angrily. "You're married to that repugnant werehyena blob." "You leave Cree out of this!" Aurelia puts you down on the table and puts pencil cup over you so you won't escape.

"Let's settle this like cats and dogs." Says Grace. Grace hold out her claws and Aurelia lets out a growl before the two of them tackle each other and wrestle to the ground. You cover your eyes as yellow and teal strands of fur fly in the air and you hear the noises of frantic barking and meowing. You don't know who to root for though given that no matter who wins the fight, you'd get eaten. Then you wonder why nobody is stopping the fight. You'd think somebody would get bothered by the noises of a literal cat and dog fight going on. At one point you see Grace's glasses fly up and land in front of you as you scream. This wouldn't end well.

Soon the noises and the beatings stop and one of the giantesses rises triumphant. The question is, who won the fight?
