Reality-Changing Growth

What causes the growth: One day, some boys in the 7th grade manage to dig up and discover an old, bizarre artifact in the back of the communal baseball field. As the artifact gets passed around, each and every boy that gets exposed grows bigger. However, no one is aware this is happening, and the world changes around them to explain and accommodate the growth every time.
Type of growth: gradual; the more exposure to the artifact, the bigger you get, with anyone within a 10 foot radius getting bigger over time.
