Fuuka Yamagishi awoke as she always did on school mornings: Just a few minutes before her alarm yelled for her to spring into action. She had only heard her alarm a few times, but she always made sure she'd set one, all the same. Even if she never needed to be woken up by one, she knew she was only waking up in anticipation of a sudden noise, and the absence of an alarm would just make her miss class. Swinging her short legs over the side of her bed, Fuuka climbed out of bed and began to go through her morning rituals. It was Saturday, which meant she was in the week's home stretch, and while a bit more sleep would have been welcome, one more day wasn't going to kill her.
Once she was all set, Fuuka slid her laptop into her bag and dashed out the door, making it to the monorail right alongside Yukari. The trip to school was uneventful, and even gave her blue-haired girl a chance to chat with her friend and upperclassman for a while. It was shaping up to be a leisurely end to a busy week, and Fuuka was thankful for that. Her day seemed sleepy and slow, going by without anything out of the ordinary happening; that is, until everything started to go downhill. Nothing could have prepared Fuuka for the bad day she was about to have.
