Dad had seen the events unfold in the sitting room and silently shook his head. He casually entered the room where Tex was struggling to pull a book out of your hand. He stopped immediately after he cleared his throat.
"This is quite an unnerving sight before me, children." Sternly, he said. "Barging into a room and snatching a book from your sister's hand is hardly gentleman like behavior, Tex."
"The book is my personal possession, father." Almost whining, Tex protested. "You know its importance."
A bemused smile formed upon dad's face. Neither Tex or you noticed that your brother's hair had grown to his shoulders or that he had lost a few inches in height. "Are you certain you were attempting to acquire the correct book from your sister?"
"Of course, I am certain!" Annoyed, Tex replied. "This book is mine!"
Dad chuckled in a way that made you and Tex nervous. Tex looked down at the book he was still trying to pry from you and screamed, jumping back as if he had just been electrocuted. "That's the magic book! I wanted my book of chaotic science!"

Tex screamed again as the changes to his body accelerated. "Jessica, please throw me the other book!" Desperate, he pleaded. "I need it to stop this!"

"Dad, what is going on here?" Worried, you asked. "Are you and Tex some kind of mad scientists?"
Dad nodded, a grin forming onto his face. "All of the boys in this family are mad scientists." Calmly, he explained. "We shall discuss it in length later." He then motioned to the pouting teenage girl where Tex once stood. "For now, I suggest you help 'Erica' find some more appropriate clothing."
"Can you fix this, daddy?" Wincing, you pleaded. "Te- err- Erica does not seem to like this."
"She should have been more careful with her book and more alert when trying to reacquire it." Firmly, dad said. "No; she will have to learn how to change herself back. You may help her learn if you wish." His smile then returned. "I shall be upstairs redecorating my new daughter's bedroom."
Tex, now Erica gasped. "Don't you dare!" Startled, she screamed.
Dad suddenly vanished from sight and Erica ran towards the stairs with you, still very confused, following behind her. Upon reaching the second floor, you found Erica staring into her bedroom with a forlorned look on her face. You peered into her room to find it...
