Chapter #5Don't mess with a goddess. by: Unknown Emily uttered a short scream and rose her hands in defense, but you realized she wouldn't be fast enough. You yourself were too shocked by Sarah's sudden act of violence to do anything. But just when her fist was about to hit Emily's face, your ex suddenly disappeared. You blinked your eyes in confusion. Then you looked at Emily, then at the spot where Sarah had been just a moment ago and then at the onlookers, who acted like nothing had happened and just went away.
Finally, you managed to speak. "Emily, what happened. Where is Sarah?" The girl looked up with a pained expression, as if she was trying to find the right words. "Well, she is under my toenail." You were speechless for a moment, giving Emily enough time to continue her explanation. "You know, I am a goddess. I can do whatever I want. And, you know, I think you are just the coolest guys ever, so I did all those good things which happened to you today. And I can do more, of course."
You slowly shook your head as the weight of her words sank in. This was so surreal. You didn't know what to say and eventually, you asked the best thing you could think of. "But why did you shrink Sarah and put her under your toenail?" Emily tapped her index fingers against each other and looked away nervously. "Well, you know, so I wouldn't be scared of her anymore." Again, her words made you speechless and you were not sure wether to find that statement cute or horrifying.
Then, it finally clicked. Sarah, your ex-girlfriend, was now shrunken to microscopic size and under the toenail of that shy girl before you. She was probably terrified. She might have been too possessive, but you had also loved her once. You had to do something to help her. "Emily, you have to return her back to normal."
The shy girl looked confused. "Why ... why are you protecting her? She attacked me." Suddenly, she took a step back, a shocked expression on her face. "Wait. Do you still love her? No, no, no. I wanted you to be my..." She stopped. You still could not comprehend everything that had happened in the last few seconds, but you were sure of a few things. That girl before you apparently was able to change reality with her mind and there was a misunderstanding which could bring you into a pretty unfavorable situation.
You had to act and you had to do it quickly. But still, there was one question that did not leave your mind. Did you still love Sarah or not?   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
