Little Jessie Kai always hated his name as when someone called him by his first and last name it sounded like 'Jessica' as the 'i' in his last name was silent. Worse, due to his small stature for a twelve year old and longish blond hair, he looked more like a six year old girl. He was not too happy about his mom insisting he carry a bag for his wallet along with his comb, spare glasses and whatever else they loaded it with. He guessed it was a light joke at his expense. He had paused to look at a shirt he wanted to buy and lost track of them.
"Mom... Jen..." Worried, he called. "Where are you?"
Jessie sighed and figured they had moved on to the women's section of the large clothing store they were in. There he bumped into a young sales lady. She looked down at him and smiled seeing he was carrying what looked to her as a loaded purse. "Good morning, miss." Kindly, she said. "Are you here to look at some of our new fashions?" She smiled. "I saw you looking at some of the boy shirts; I'll bet you're a tomboy just itching to get out of her shell."
You gulped as the saleslady obviously mistook you for a girl, looking for a new look. "Well, I..." Stammering, you said. "It's like this..."
The saleslady grinned. "I know; you're a bit shy and uncertain as its all new territory for you." Bemused, she said. "Don't you worry. By the time I'm done, you will be turning the boys heads."
Your mind raced, frantically thinking of a way out of the mess you had fallen into.
