And he got it literally for free! Even if this guy was weird and kinda creepy… but still the only this he from Hikaru was to accept some strange mark. This mark was a little strange, it combined in itself the conventional symbols for male and female, but also looked cool... So truly he was in luck and now only thing left to do was to find Akane…
“What do we have here?” his sweet dreams were interrupted by a dreaded voice. Voice of Nabiki Tendo, the scariest person in the school…
‘’Nothing !!! Nothing !!!’’ he gave a squeak jumping in the air. Upon returning on the earth he realised that Idol upon all his hopes were placed were not in his hands anymore.
“Really?” Nabiki seemed unsure looking upon the object she took from his hands. “Because it looks like another one of your brainless plots. I thought I made myself clear last time, Gosunkugi” she looked him in the eyes and Hikaru nearly fainted from fear. “I don’t really care what new absurd you try to do with that thing, but I did say you to not do anything when it can disrupt my work. You know very well that soon Ranma will fight Ryoga and I’ve already took bets… And whatever you are trying to do may disrupt the fight and it. Would. Cost. Me. MONEY”
At this moment Hikaru Gosunkugi could not take it anymore. Angering Nabiki Tendo was the very thing you would do when you try to end your life… And nothing would anger Nabiki more that making her lose money… World went dark as Hiraku finally fainted.
“Idiot” snorted Nabiki, not giving poor fool any more attention.
Now, that she took this thing – whatever it is – from him, he would not cause any chaos. Normally Nabiki didn’t care about what happens in the school. All these overpowered fools could raise it to the ground – either way it wouldn’t change anything, and it would be rebuilt the very next day. It already has happened many times. She didn’t care, as long as it didn’t stop her doing her thing. Or today it could have prevented already prepared fight, fight she did invest in… This just won’t do…
So now she could just go to see the fight…
Gosunkugi expected to use the Idol to make Akane ‘see’ him – whatever it meant for him – and to get his final ‘happily ever after’. But as it has already been said he didn’t even really know how this Idol – of an unknown origin – worked. If he at least tried to prepare before acting he would have known, that the Idol affected the carrier and not the person said carrier thought about, aiming for… or whatever. And to activate it, it must be rubbed – in the same way that you would rub a genie’s lamp.
And that exactly what Nabiki did while watching the expected fight. And then, it dawned on her. She was a slave. She just suddenly knew. It wasn't an emotion, or an idea. It was a fact. Nabiki Tendo was now a slave. There mere idea to fight it was absurd. She knew she was a slave now. At the core of her very existence, that was who she was and who she would be for the rest of her life.
