Chapter #10

Before she can tell you a group of soldier burs...

         Before the wolf can tell you what she wants to do with you. The vent grate above you in the ceiling suddenly fell and crashed on the table between the two of you prompting you both to look up at the ceiling. Out of the dark square in the ceiling fell two black canisters which clanked as the hit the metal table. Less than a second later, the canisters began hissing before releasing an odd gas. One released a black smoke while the other released white smoke. You found yourself gagging and tearing up, but you couldn't smell anything. The wolf that was with you stood up immediately and kicked her chair aside. She took up a fighting stance as if she were expecting an attack. After a few more seconds you couldn't see anything, everywhere you looked the hazy smoke distorted and clouded your vision. You then felt the chain holding you to the desk go taut before slackening. Your lifted your arms from the table and though you couldn't see them, you could feel that they'd been released from their bindings. It was then that you felt something grab you underneath your arms and pull you upward. You could only assume that you were heading up into the ceiling vent where the attack had originated from. It wasn't long before you immersed in the darkness of the vent where you felt yourself being dragged by your arms as you're savior dragged you through the duct while you recovered from the gas. After a few moments you found yourself being pulled through an opening. A full moon lit the rooftop where you able to finally see who was responsible for your 'liberation'.
