This choice: Stay where you are for the night, you hated school anyway • Go Back...Chapter #9Stay where you are for the night, you hated sch... by: metra "well, nobody's spotted me yet," You think. And the school is a good distance away, there's chance you could get spotted on your way there. So you settle down into a sleeping position. You can't see much anyway now that it's sundown, you figure when you wake up in the morning you'll be in a good position to get the lay of the land. Eventually you're eyelids get heavy and you drift to sleep.
The next morning you feel the sun beaming down on you're eyelids, you silently curse yourself for not closing the curtains in you're bedroom. You reach for you're pillow only to feel a hard, cold surface instead of a plush and warm pillow. You're eyes shoot open and you realize that you're not in your room at all, your sitting on someone's rooftop, in a strange version of earth where the people are anthromorphic animals... Aaaaand the mayor is a madwoman who wants God-only-knows-what with you..... Right.
You stand up and start to stretch yourself out as you look out at the neighborhood, but before you can do much else you hear one of the doors to the house open. You don't really notice though until you hear voices below you.
The first voice sounded feminine, like it belonged to a young woman, "I'm still not convinced that there ever was or is a human. I mean, that stuff can be faked right?"
The second voice was also feminine, but higher pitched, "But the police where there! And they were rumored to actually have chased the human!"
You heard a splash and a clacking footsteps before what sounded like the creaking of a hammock. You get low to the roof and crawl towards the edge to get a look at the anthros that had just come out of the house. Peeking down over the edge of the roof you find that this house actually has a swimming pool in the backyard. In the pool, there was a shark anthro. She looked about as tall as Luna. She had black hair with bright orange highlights and orange eyes with slits for pupils. She had a shark like tail and dark grey skin. Her belly, neck and palms were light grey though. Her hands were very human like, but on her feet she had three large toes rather than five average sized. She had small claws at the tips of her fingers and toes. And atop her head she had two long, pointed, fin like ears with a small earring through one. She was wearing a black bathing suit that exposed her belly, arms and legs but everything else was covered.
In the hammock, a young, teenage looking anthro tiger was laying back in the shade. She wore a plain t-shirt with a loose khaki button up shirt (which was unbuttoned) with a pair of blue jeans. She had long black hair and yellow eyes with slits for pupils, just like the shark. Her fur pattern was that of a typical tiger; orange and black with a white underbelly and chin. She wore no shoes leaving her paws exposed as she swayed in the breeze with her hands behind her head and her tail lazily swishing about. You figured she was about you're height, if not a bit taller.
"I dunno," The tiger said, "I think there's a human out there somewhere. I mean, even the mayor was seen last night."
"That doesn't really mean anything Mira," The shark retorted as she cast a glance at Mira. "Mayor Deluma does whatever she likes so she could have been there for any number of reasons."
"But still!" Mira protested, "Don't you want to meet one Sarah? I mean we're not talking about a rare race of anthro like a dragon or unicorn. We're talking about a member from a totally mythical speices! A human!"
"Of course I'd like to meet one," Sarah sighed, "But you have to face facts Mira, They just aren't real! I mean, what do you expect? A human to fall out of the sky and into you're lap?" At that moment, you were actually just getting ready to make a quiet escape, but as you crawl up the slanted roof you grab a loose shingle and begin to slide noisily toward the edge of the roof!
