Fish Out of Water

"No bloody human gets the best of Paisley Van Manen! You're gonna be my brunch if I have to chase you straight to hell!" You give a scoff. "Yeah right," you say. "You can't even leave the water." "Wanna bet?" Paisley swims back and then she moves at supersonic speed through the water to leap out. You hear her hiss and look into the air and scream. Paisley lands right behind you and you're forced to run as the mermaid tries crawling on her hands to move through the sand. "Get back here you little bicky!" Paisley snaps her fangs at you as she crawls after you.
However, once you're up ahead, you see that Paisley is crawling at a snail's pace. Being a mermaid, she was virtually immobile on the land and you let out a laugh as she's trying to come after you. "You'll be laughing from the inside of my belly, you twerp!" Paisley showed her sharp teeth and snapped them, but you walk slowly away as she tries to chase you. "You're out of shape, Paisley," you say. "Get that lardass of yours back in the water." Paisley grits her teeth. "For your information, mermaids do not have asses! I'm going to get you!" You just walk away as Paisley is struggling to go after you. That's when Paisley notices that she's several feet (in monster terms) away from the water. "Bugger." The mermaid groans to herself. At this point you're long gone and Paisley is beyond pissed that she's stranded.

Soon Stella is flying over and flies down slightly to destroy a little gargoyle girl's sandcastle to make her cry. "I love making gargoyles miserable." Says that obnoxious pixie to herself. That's when Stella looks ahead and gasps because she sees Paisley beached in the sand. "Paisley!?" Paisley at this point is weak and looks physically ill as she sweats heavily under the hot sun right as Stella flies down to her. "Paisley!" Paisley lets out a groan. "Good day, Stella." She says weakly. Stella is the only monster on the land that Paisley gets along with, mainly because they both enjoy tormenting you. "Don't worry, Paisley," says Stella. "I'll get you back to the water." Stella grabs Paisley by the tail and flies in the air, dangly Paisley and making her grunt. Paisley begins to turn pale due to the fact that she wasn't used to being in the sky and looked like she would vomit.
Fortunately for her, Stella drops her with a splash back into the water. "How did you get yourself beached, Paisley?" Paisley lets out a hiss. "That bloody Stephen got away from me again. I thought if I went after him on the land, I could get him but I completely forgot mermaids can't move out of the water." "Damn," says Stella. "I'd sure love to hear that little twerp scream in agony going down your throat. But you can only get him if he goes near the water." Paisley lets out a groan. Stella then gasps. "Wait here." She says. Stella flies off as Paisley looks in confusion.

By the time Stella returns, Paisley is picking her teeth with a fishbone. Stella flies down into the water and holds up a strange potion. "What the Davy Jones is that?" Paisley gives a smirk. "This is a potion I bought from a kappa from Horrorville. It has the power to make two monster exchange species?" Paisley is even more confused as Stella pours the elixir into two glasses. "It couldn't be any simpler. It will turn you into a fairy and me into a mermaid and once you're able to leave the water, it's munch time for Stephen." Paisley raises an eyebrow. "I hope it works and that it isn't permanent. I'd hate to lose my gills forever." Stella smiles wickedly and hands Paisley her glass.
Both of your enemies drink the potion but does it work...
