Chapter #3"Hey, uh, funny situation-" by: Meterox   You stare at the woman for a few more seconds. She has calmed down a bit, you guess that it's because she perhaps understood that pushing more panic might end up in people noticing her predicament. You stealthily stand up, in order to not alarm her but approach her at the same time. You are pretty sure that this burning entity inside of you was the cause of it, and since you still felt it, you were positive that it could reverse this mess, but still decided to talk this out with the woman.
Just then, she suddenly starts to look around and scan for answers, spotting you. While both of you cooled down at this point, she seeing you with her leg on your arm-slot almost made her scream again as she jumped up, and almost fell over due to her missing leg - but you catched her just in time. With her own leg. Your leg-arm. It's was more of a sudden reaction that you didn't have time to think about, which made for a really awkward situation; holding her, with just your leg-arm, with ease, due to the leg being... well, a leg, it's a chunk stronger than your old arm.
You can't help but blush a bit, as you rarely got to experience being with a woman so close. Something else inside of you felt a different kind of excitement, simply at the thought of this absolutely impossible and fiction-like situation.
You see that she is about to scream again, but react quickly again and hold your left hand - well, your only hand - onto her mouth.
"Shhh, shh! Please!", you say, looking around to see if anyone noticed you. There was a little girl standing by the window of the Deli and watching you, but didn't seem to sense anything off, appearantly. You pull the woman into a more private corner. Once More, you check if anyone saw you, and then finally let her go from your leg-arm.
"W-W-What the hell?! That is my leg!!" she screamed again, as a whisper, while pointing at your leg-arm.
"I know, I know, but please don't scream, it's fine", you mumbled in an effort to calm her down yet again.
"It's fine?! Are you kidding me?!", she says, raising her voice, "My leg is your arm, and your arm is my leg, how the hell are we supposed to live like this?! We are freaks!! We will be taken to some kind of institution, and they will do experiments on us becaus-" she is cut off by you. During her speech, you concentrated on swapping your limbs back to their respective places, hoping that this thing inside of you would listen and have mercy on you two.
In an instant, and an uncomfortable sensation later, you find yourselves back with your own arm and leg each, both at the right place. You two sigh in unison, relieved at this being over. However, your mind can't help but think that having her leg as your arm was intriguing and exciting at the same time, and you subtly wish that you could try it out again sometime.
However, just then you notice that you still can feel the leg, and as a test, you move it around a bit and see that you indeed, can still control.
You suspect that she has still control of your arm, and suspicion is soon proven right as your arm starts moving on his own.
"Oh god, it's still not fixed...", she mumbles now, much quieter and calm to your surprise. You concentrate again and this one, for real, are back to normal.
"Well... what a trip.", you chuckle half heartedly, looking at her. She looks at you for a few seconds, making you uncomfortable, and then she speaks up again:
"You did this, didn't you?"
"W... uh... no, I didn't... well, yes, I mean no, I kind of... it's not me, it's...", you stammered, absolutely ashamed at your massive loss of words. You sure must have looked like an idiot now. You looked away in embarrassment.
"Hmm..."
She went back to her seat, telling you that you should stay here for a second, and comes back with a card. She presses it into your hand.
"Call me at 6." - and then, she hurried out of the Deli.
You take a moment to understand what just happened, and figure out that she is curious about this 'ability' aswell. Calmly, you get back to your table, finish your sandwich, and walk home, thinking a lot about today's happening.
All in all, you can't help but feel happy at this. You have this thing that seems to follow your commands, and that can do incredible things, and on top of that a pretty woman wants to meet you. Now if that isn't successful.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
