Gina Perki was an athletic young agent; she swiftly cut the thin rope with a blade she produced from her pocket to avoid Dr. Visizen's shot. However, the nearly mad genius was equal to the task, and the blast struck the intruder in the center of her mass before she landed.
As Gina landed, she thought it was strange she didn't feel any pain from being shot. She then thought it was strange that she was here getting shot. Finally, she thought it was strange they didn't know who she was.
She picked herself off the ground as Dr. Visizen looked at her confused. "Strange. It worked this morning with good ol' Alice. Mmm... good times."
"Excuse me, who are you? And... who am I?" Gina asked. She looked around and tried to make sense of her surroundings.
"I'm Dr. Visizen. Speaking of which--computer: Illuminate," he instructed and the lights gradually came on. The light confirmed what his suspicions--he had the wrong ray gun.
"I have got to start embossing these. Or maybe have a voice-response when activated. I could have Alice reorganize them tomorrow..."
Gina fidgeted while the absent-minded doctor with the strange device talked to himself. "Umm--Dr. Visizen. Please tell me who I am and what I'm doing here."
Dr. Visizen turned his attention back to his inadvertently created Jason Borne, or would it be Jessica Borne? He sighed and checked the setting. He had set it for a week, but he already had done experiments with AMNES-500.
"One moment. Let me check your papers." Dr. Visizen said to give him a few moments to make up a story. He was considering something useful, something embarrassing, and something tantalizing. Maybe she could be his double agent lover in the CIA for the short term and give him an advantage against the Company. Maybe she could be his exhibitionist girlfriend who has moments of intense embarrassment. Maybe she could be a new lab assistant with a crush on Alice.
Granted, some of these ideas would work better if it had been the mind control ray gun. Still, the challenge was part of the fun.
Dr. Visizen picked up some random papers, pretended to look at them, and made a decision.
