From across the distant mountain tops, you could just faintly make out the figure to be almost humanoid. The only features that stood out to you were the large shoes and back that was seemingly covered with spikes. The rest of the world seems to be fading away around him as he continues to stare off into the distance.
Curiosity flowed through your veins and you walked towards the figure in order to get a better glimpse. As you get closer to him, you notice that he's blue and looks like an anthropomorphic animal. It occurs to you that this must be the hedgehog that you played Sonic the Hedgehog with only days before. Suddenly, a loud noise comes from behind him. A gunshot? Is Doctor Eggman shooting at him?
In only a moment, the entire world goes black...
A few hours later, you woke up on the hard cement floor with a massive headache drilling inside your head. You were throbbing in pain but that was the least of your worries. After finally opening your eyes, you find yourself in the middle of a busy city intersection. Everything around you looked so ordinary and yet there was something off about what you were seeing. You couldn't exactly pinpoint what it was but it left you with an uneasy feeling. Maybe you took one too many hits back at your place and that's the reason why you're experiencing such a bad trip. You notice two people arguing with one another a few feet away from you. Shakily, you move closer to the two people in order to listen in on their conversation.
"Did you see that guy?" the male asks.
"I think so, why?" asks the female.
"That's the guy that hit me with his car!"
The man points at you. You turn away from them, and walk in the opposite direction. It's only a few moments before they are running after you. In an effort to shake them off, you lead them into a suspiciously dark alleyway and are soon followed by the drunk man and woman. You hear many footsteps behind you, and you turn around to look.
"Just me," says a familiar voice.
You turn around to see Sonic, alive once again, and looking no worse for wear. This really shouldn't be happening. If you were in the real world, then it shouldn't be possible you were put in some wacky messed-up version of Sonic X. You had to be imagining all this, right? All you wanted was to worship Sonic's feet, not be put in some weird thriller adventure with him. There had to be a way to fix this.
"What are you doing here?" you ask Sonic a very serious question.
"With what's about to happen, do you think I could stay away?"
You glance sideways and frowned, "What do you mean?"
Sonic sighs and looks at you, his once determined green eyes now filled with empathy.
