Chapter #6

Robert the Robber

    by: Unknown
"There he is, get him." Which is what they all say after spotting a robber in the process of stealing a loot. Like any other, this one had a quick feet. He made good use of it, as the nightstick-carrying guards struggled to outpace him. Like few skilled robbers, he had the reflexes of a cat. A hiding guard sprang out from his hiding spot, spreading his hands to detain him. His speed made his momentum forward, but it wasn't hard for him to jump over the guard. Corner by corner one guard showed up, but they're sluggish when compared to the robber speed, evasive maneuvers and acrobatic skills. He made it out of the building with the loot, and a gunshot loudly banged.

He quickly evaded his current position and saw that it was fired by a dwarfish man in his pajamas. He took a moment, having an eye to eye with this man as he also scanned his surroundings. Two guards behind him with the lone gun-wielding man was quickly joined with two other guards at his front. He was surrounded, and the man seemed to have an intention in killing him. Which he wondered why, what's so special about this scroll. He was assigned to steal this scroll, and he would be payed top dollars worth of looting diamonds. It was an easy choice compared to stealing diamonds, especially when he didn't need to share the reward. He shot his grappling gun, propelling him upward to the roof. Although, one of the imp's shot managed to hit his leg. Wounded, he could only trot and went for the edge of the roof. A jump would've made him reach the next building's stairs. He cursed the misfortune on his leg, as he could only swing the hook and hoped for the best...

=====================================

Several days later, Tim's POV

Your day started normal, like it always does. You got up from your bed, walked nearly in coma to the bathroom and turned on the shower. After 2 minutes you heard knocking on the door. "David! Hurry up in there!" You heard Tina's voice shouting from the other side of the door, just arrived from a jog, like always.
"Yeah, yeah" You answered her and covered yourself with a towel, opening the door and letting Tina in. You then walked into the room and got dressed.

You checked Instegram and twitter before you walked down stairs, where your whole family was gathered for breakfast. You sat down on your usual place and joined them
"Yupp, just another normal day" you thought to yourself...

"Ey, John!" Your sister Julia suddenly says. "The old man living in the huge villa down the street is having a yard sale, I'm gonna see if I can find anything for my room or something. Wanna join?

You hadn't anything else important planned and the man living in the house has always seemed interesting and really weird, plus his house was huge. Maybe you could find something for yourself as well you thought.

"Hmm.. yeah maybe" You answered and continued the meal. 10 minutes later you finished your plate and sank down in the couch in the living room.

Not having anything better to do you thought to yourself that you might as well just join her.

You and your sister headed out of the house and towards the villa. You and Julia had been really close since the day your father and mother got separated. The two of you always shared everything and really enjoy each others company,
Arriving at the old man's villa you saw a huge sale in the front yard, loads of old antique furniture, sculptures and other things like ritual masks, art and other strange things from all around the world.

As fast as you got close to the front yard Julia rushed towards all the stuff, picking up things, studied them for a while before laying them down and unto the next item.
You walked around looking at all the weird stuff, wondering where the man got all of these things, there had to be stuff from every corner of the world. You walked around the yard looking, you saw the old man walking around telling people stories behind the stuff in the yard.
As you walked around you came by a table with a lot of medieval looking stuff, like helmets, daggers and some old silverware. Suddenly your eyes caught the attention of a old scroll laying on a piece silk cloth.
You carefully picked up the scroll and examined it.
"Fancy old relics do ya?" You heard a voice behind you.

As you turned your head you saw the old man standing behind you with a smile on his face.
"Uh.. yeah, guess I do" You replied.
"Well, it's a interesting piece you got there young man." He said pointing at the scroll in your hand. "It's said that it contains a powerful spell". He chuckled.
"A spell?" You asked skeptical.
"Indeed a spell, I got it from my time working as an historian in Europe. "So are you interested?"
You pondered about the whole thing for a few seconds, you always had a interest for magic and fantasy stories, this would be a neat item to have.
"How much?" You then asked.
The old man looked at you for a while. "You look like a decent lad. Tell you what, you can have it. By the looks of it I earn enough from the young lady you came with" He said smiling and looked over at your sister walking around with her hands full of decorative stuff.
"For free? Really? Thanks!" You said smiling, surprised over the kindness of the old man.

You stood there listening to the old man's stories about some of the stuff for about 30 minutes before your sister finally came towards you with four full bags.
"Well, I'm done!" She said, clearly happy with her findings. "Are you?"

"About time." You said.

Julia just frowned at you and handed you two of her bags.
"Come on John, lets head home! I can't wait to have a closer look at my findings!" She said, almost dragging you of the yard.

"So did you find anything yourself?" Julia asked you as the two of you walked towards your house.

"I actually got a free... scroll from the old man." You answered.

"A scroll?" She asked you with a frown on her face.

"Yeah.. a scroll, he claimed it to contain a magical spell" You said rolling your eyes, convincing Julia that you didn't believe his statement. But really you were kind of eager to try it out, as you always fancied stories about magic and such things.

"Oooh... magic spell... yeah... right" Julia said with a stupid smile on her face.

*****************************
When the two of you got back home, you helped Julia with all her stuff to her room before you walk back into your own room. You laid the scroll on your desk and carefully rolled it out. You were about to examine the words on the paper, but Sharon's callout to you was so loud it halted you from reading further.

"JOHN, get down here!" She yelled.

"God... what now?" You said to yourself and went down stairs.

"What's up..?" You asked Sharon.

"What do you think John? the lawn! You should have done it yesterday." She said angry.

"Can't I do it later, Sharon? I'm kinda busy with something. Why can't Tina do it?"

"Tina needs to study for college, now no more of that and do the lawn!" She said and pointed at the front door.

You knew you couldn't discuss with Sharon when she's in that mood, so you walked outside and started the lawn mover.

*******************
It took you about 30 minutes to get it done. As you finished you eagerly ran back up to your room to take a look at the mystical scroll.
You entered your room and...

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Saw Sharon just standing there, back facing you

2. The scroll is gone (Robert's POV)

*Noteb*
3. Heard a scream from downstairs

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
