Ash and Dawn were on their way to Pallet Town, Brock having left for Pewter City in order to meet with his family and watch over the Pewter Gym for a while. Ash was trailing a few steps behind Dawn, hoping to spot a few Pokémon in the trees and bushes along the path. What he ended up finding, however, was not a Pokémon but an odd remote lying beside the road.. Curious, he picked up the remote and took a closer look at it, noticing that it had many buttons that were all different colors. Not knowing any of their functions, he randomly pressed the blue button.
In the blink of an eye, Ash felt very different. His perspective had shifted slightly downwards and he noticed weight in areas were there had been none before, namely his chest and the back of his head, and yet other parts of his body felt lighter. Irritated by the new sensations, Ash took a peek at his chest and was shocked to see two mounds on his formerly flat chest. Taking a hand to his chest to confirm whether this was actually real, he noticed his now smaller, feminine hands and the lighter and smoother skin that now covered them. He then moved his hands to the back of his head and noticed the long hair that covered it now. Pulling a strand of it in front of his face, he noticed its familiar blue color. It then dawned on him that there was one area of his body he still had to check for major changes. He let go of his hair and moved his hand downwards. Once it reached where his manhood would have been, realization hit him, now her, like a ton of bricks: she was female now. And not just that, she now had Dawn's body.
Looking over her new body, she noticed that oddly enough, she was still wearing her own clothes, only re-sized for Dawn's, now her, body. When Ash looked up again, she noticed that Dawn had stopped walking and was now looking back at her. "Is something wrong Ash?", asked Dawn, "You suddenly stopped walking." Ash looked at Dawn, immediately noticing that she, now he, was in her original body wearing Dawn's clothes, only re-sized for Ash's body. However, it seemed that Dawn was completely oblivious to what was going on as he did not show the slightest reaction to seeing his original body. Seeing this, Ash came to the realization that this remote could alter reality. By pressing that button, Ash and Dawn had swapped bodies and reality was adjusted so that only she would know.
"Don’t worry, nothing wrong over here", Ash told Dawn in order to not draw attention to the fact that there really was something off, "I thought my shoe was untied, but it was just my imagination." "Oh, okay. Let’s continue to Pallet Town then", Dawn turned back around and continued walking, Ash quickly following a few steps behind.
Ash was amazed at the power the remote in her hands held and was eager to see what she could do with it. Thinking back, she remembered that when she pressed the button, she was aiming the remote in Dawn's direction, so this must be how the target is selected.
Ash wasn't sure how she should go on from here. There were so many possibilities in just the palm of her hand. Sure, she could just press the blue button again and swap back, but trying out the other buttons promised to be exciting. In any case, reality was going to be adjusted, so nobody would notice anyway.
