I was struck at a young age by the television braodcast of the 70's film adaptation of Jesus Christ Superstar. The Andrew Lloyd Webber lyrics and the depth of relationship fed by songs like I don't know how to love him"

Also, in 1982 I sang "Where Is Love" to an audience of youth leaders and youth on Catalina Island, not even realizing it is from the musical Oliver which had a film adaptation that won the Academy Award in the early 60's The 1970's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is also something I did not see in theaters, instead televised, around the time I read the book in 3rd or 4th grade. (Although I know I got to loving Roald Dahl in that important 2nd grade reading period)
