Tell a Lie About How the Watch is Just a Watch ...

by: Shadow Writer Author IconMail Icon
"It's a none of your business kind of watch - that's what" Roger says, snubbing the man.

The man retracted his head from between you two, looking down as if he were a noble.
"Quit staring" Roger said, rebuking him further. The man huffed at you both and then walked off, but you had the sense that he hadn't stopped watching you two.

"Alright, who was that?" Roger asked.
"I don't know. But the message from my dad DID say that he was trying to hide the watch from certain unruly characters" You sighed. "I didn't think they'd already be here within HOURS of me getting this thing"

"Yea, but it's a fully functioning reality manipulating watch... right?" Roger asked.
"So to speak, yea, I guess"
"So... wish for an anti theft measure? Duh..." Roger said.

You hadn't thought of that.

Quietly, you whispered into the watch. "I wish that the watch had an anti-theft measure that would prevent anyone from stealing it from me"

The watch went red this time and then displayed a message:

SUPERIOR ANTI THEFT
MEASURE ALREADY
IN PLACE

"How the hell would it have a superior anti-theft measure?" Roger asked.
"Whatever though" You replied "I guess if its superior than a reality bending wish then it should be pretty damn effective"

Nguyen meanwhile had just won her round of the match and had returned to her seat beside the other girls... And she stood out far more now as she was considerably taller than them.

"I still feel like modifying Nguyen was cheating" You said.
"Again with this? Look, if it makes you feel better, use it on someone more inconspicuous... Like some other girl in the stands" Roger said, rolling his eyes.
"Why does it have to be a girl?" You asked.
"Why not?"
"Fair point"

A further five minutes passed of awkward silence. You were scanning the stands, trying to find something to change. But for the life of you, your mind was blank to ideas.

"Your stuck aren't you" Roger smirked.
"No"
"Yes"
"No"
"You totally are"
"Shut up" You replied. "Alright, I am. So give me an idea"
